Geno Smith is one of the best players in the league. What he is doing with this O line is nothing short of incredible. He is looking so poised out there. Should be getting dark horse mvp buzz

When he fires lasers he is great. He's not great when he has time. He doesn't have the moon ball like Russ does. Like he doesn't have that touch on the ball like a top 5 though.

If the award were based solely on QB caliber determined by fundamental aptitude and judged against their supporting cast and ease of assignment, he'd absolutely be deserving of that buzz.
It's not. And we are 3-3. He is leading the League in yards because he throws 50 times a game. He's cost us one game already and arguably more than 1 with poor play. Saying his is an MVP candidate is laughable. He's a fine player. He's nowhere close to an MVP in this League right now.

Same as the dudes who start jacking their lil dongs every time he throws a pick. Can't help but notice most of them aren't posting today, though.
Like I said before both sides do it all the time as we see here.

He has not been the primary factor for a loss in a single game this season. There is no loss this year in which he shoulders more or even close to as much blame as our defense.

He’s having a good game today. Calling him MVP worthy is ridiculous.

Geno's on pace for 5000 yards with a bottom 5 O-line. He's not an MVP favorite, but if he continues at this pace, he's in that conversation.

It sure does get the pitchforks and torches out when people effusively praise the guy who has us competitive, but no one cares when K9 gets similar praise (as in top-5 talent at RB) without the statistical heft behind it.

They're quite similar situations, but they aren't called the same way. There's a double-standard here.

FWIW, I think they both flirt with top-5 talent at their spots. Talent - not production, not numbers, but talent.
