Seems like we started paying TE's all of a sudden. Dissley got a 3 year, and we reupped Fant. In an coupla years Fant only had the one td. I love the way Barner said he wants to be the best in the game. Arroyo has potential.
Happy so far the way it's shaking out. Young guns on rookie deals.

Jimmy Graham probably would have been a hall of famer if he had stayed in New Orleans. Was a terrible fit in Seattle though and that injury he got was brutal. Trading max unger as part of the deal basically ended our championship window. I remember guys like Bruce Irvin calling Graham soft when we played the saints in the play offs...then we traded for him.
Well, HOF'er was probably a stretch, but I agree with everything else you said. Graham was basically a wide receiver that lined up as a tight end in our run first offense. Horrible fit, and arguably the worst trade of the PC/JS era, giving away a Pro Bowl center at the peak of his career without a plan to replace him AND a first-round pick.

Have you looked at his career numbers? He absolutely was on the way to the Hall, esp. if he stayed in New Orleans. His numbers were crazy.
It’s crazy how much of an advantage a team has when they have a HOF caliber tight end.

A tight end that talented is almost always a HUGE difference maker.

Graham, Gronk, Gates, was game changers during this era.

I see a pattern here, if you want to play Tight End at a very level, have your last name start with the letter “G.” Lol

Gives me hope for guys like AJ Garner and Elijah Garroyo.

Wondering if we pick up a veteran guard now.
I see lots of chatter on the clickbait streams about us signing Rissan (sp?) from Minnesota. His PFF grades (for whatever that is worth) were in the 70s last year. Have no idea if our staff is even considering the guy but he would seem to be an immediate, considerable, and affordable veteran upgrade compared to what we have at RG now.

To make good use of a tight end, you need a QB who can throw in the middle of the field, and uh, well, we had one who wasn't so good at that.

If we trade for Hendrickson, then we will be trading Or cutting Nwosu. This will leave too many pass rushers and he will be the one expendable be cause of his current salary.

I am hoping we see a healthy Nwosu unleashed on opposing QBs this season. When healthy, he's been worth it. Sadly, injured too often.
