Macdonald was installing a defensive scheme when Devon Witherspoon spotted a flaw in the plan. The second-year cornerback cautioned against that particular approach and explained what the drawback would be. Macdonald disagreed.

When it came time to apply the plan during the walk-through, Witherspoon was right, and the exact conflict he predicted came to fruition.

“He let me know about it,” Macdonald said with a laugh in a post-practice sit-down outside the locker room last week.

Yup, my favorite part as well. Goes to show not only Witherspoon's IQ, but his growth & leadership, that he's willing to point out a flaw in his coaches scheme. Also shows that Macdonald is just as willing to learn from his players as he is to teach them. There's a certain "partnership" aspect to the relationship between the coaches & players. I got an optimistic feeling that many good things are gonna result from that relationship.

Learning experience for Mac, tells him his players are paying attention and are students of his defense, proving his point Witherspoon also humbles his coach on a respectful level which I think grounds Mac in some ways to keep communication open.

Definitely excited. I’m not betting the house on us making a playoff run or being better than 9-8 but, I’m damn sure hoping for a few things such as a solid defense that knows how to tackle. Hoping to see JSN and DK utilized to the max extent. I’m excited for our rookies…Murphy ofc and Haynes. I feel like these guys are going to be special.

My favorite players, yes they’re all Seahawks but…what can I say, are all poised to kick ass this year in what I think will be a dynamic offense.

I don’t know if we do better than 9-8…make the playoffs…etc etc..

But I have a lot of faith in MM. No matter the case, I think we’re going to see a remarkably improved defense and that IS something to be amped up for!!
