With our near 50 50 record...realistically who would be available in rd1 at that time? And do you force it on a risky player?

It’s a real bad draft for QBs unless you’re getting Shedeur.

I thought maybe Nussmeier from LSU was a potential interesting fit in the back end of the first but he’s staying.

Strong no.

OL, LB, DL, CB, then if there's any later QB prospects they like then draft them and coach them up for a year or two.

I'm not saying Geno is the answer, but I don't see a better solution next year unless we trade for someone, or there's another Sam Darnold miracle story out there.

Last thing I want them to do is reach for a QB

What about the FA route.

Steelers came out of last off season with Fields and Wilson. Vikes are sitting on McCarthy, Darnald, and Jo(No)es.

Shadeur is legit. I doubt he makes it out of the top 5 though, and I don't think we have enough to make that kind of move up.
Yeah — I don’t get the hate other than name. He’s spectacular and knows ball.

No way Vegas, Giants, or Titans pass on him.

Good thing about this draft. It’s the deepest and best RB draft in over a decade. And maybe the worst qb draft in years. Too bad we don’t need a RB.

Although I do think Allar could be good, but you have to convince him to come out this year, and let him sit the bench year 1.

We are stuck in mediocrity. We're pretty much screwed. We have to hope for a homerun later in the draft like we got all those years ago with Russ before he became Me3.
I hate depending on that though. At this point, Russ is more of a reason NOT to draft one in the third round because that was 12 years ago and he's still the last one who became a franchise QB for the team that drafted them. And before Russ, we're talking maybe Matt Schaub in 2004, and all his best work was with a different team.

It's best to pick, BPA at this point. We have Geno for another year or we really tank it and Go with Howell. We are going to be in thw same spot as this year with Geno in my opinion. We need at least 2 years to build the oline for us to be legit.

Absolutely 100% this. Those are the positions of need. Get a good-great 1st rounder rather than some scrub you reached on.

I think there could be some value there, if you're okay not starting a guy for a year or two.
