I"m not convinced that the drop off between Price and the others is that much. I'd have much rather seen us get a CB that could have kept up with Puke..I hate seening that guy gash us. I doubt if those two rated CB's will be yet available, come time for us to pick, but I wouldn't mind us getting Ponds if he's still around. I think he would be ideal to cover receivers like Puka
Seattle has been great at drafting Day 3 corners and developing them to be good players and even starters. I’m convinced Schneider can do it again with this crop of players. Scouting great DBs have always been a strength of Schneider’s college scouts and they can do it again this year! Don’t be surprised if Seattle likes Prysock coming from UDub for Day 3. I wouldn’t be surprised.

I think the idea that a rookie CB that was still available at pick 32 could effectively cover Puka is probably not very realistic considering that most good NFL corners can't do that. The guy averaged over 7.5 receptions and over 100 yards per game.
Thats why I think Ponds, that's so nimble and quick and at the slot might be the ticket... face it, has anyone on the Seahawks been able to hold him? I take that back cause it appears it was only the last game he really torched us..the infamous Riq taunt game. Just seems like he's always having a big game against us.

What’s your problem with our first pick?
Poor positional value.
Wasn't good enough to even be the starter in college.
His kick returning skills will either be wasted by using Shaheed, or if he returns kicks we'd be losing the only thing that Shaheed brings to the team, as our offense was worse when he was on the field.

Not a good use of our 1st. It basically makes it impossible for both our 1st rounder and Shaheed to be good choices. One or both of them will be mistakes.

Lets see we were going nowhere till we pulled off the Lynch Trade, we were abysmal till we got K9 in the draft to pair with Charbs, I see a formula here, oh and going further back, Alexander, Watters, Warner, and then repectable not great Smith and Sims.

Running game matters, someone that you have to account for makes a defense need to compensate and that opens up the passing game.

Price matters, come on down....................

Dude, I gotta ask. Are you EVER happy with what the Hawks do? Why assume the worst, Immediately???? Honest question.

So hold on a sec.

You really believe that they won't put him and Shaheed out on the field at the same time to dare opposing Kickers to kick to either of them?

Jay Harbaugh loves to do that, you know?

Also, with Shaheed being re-signed, he is obviously going to be used more as a Receiver than just a returner (though he will do that from time to time still).

I'm with @SoulfishHawk here.

Nothing the Hawks do ever satisfies you which makes me wonder if you're just a troll looking to stir up shit than anything else...

The guy to put on Puka and throw him off his game & frustrate him would be Hood.
Fierce hands on the LOS and keep him from getting into his routes, it would mess with Stafford's progression too.
No WR at the senior bowl liked facing Colton Hood.

WHY was our defense so good this year (besides it being a Mike McDonald defense)?

Because they had plenty of rest. Why? Because our running game was so good, that opposing defenses couldn't get off the field, got tired, and were unable to slow down our offense.

Then the defense would come on the field, all rested and energized.

What was a contributing factor to Sam Darnold playing so well?

He had a strong running game to take the pressure off of him.

Experts say that the running back position doesn't have much value.

I say that they are wrong! A good running back and game makes the offense MUCH better, and makes the defense MUCH better.

So you have one position, a running back, contributing to the play of 11 defensive players, and contributing to the play of 10 other offensive players.

I say that the running back position is extremely important! Just ask John Elway. He got smoked in his first couple Superbowls where they threw the ball. But won the 2 Superbowls when they had (Superbowl MVP) Terrell Davis.

Then there's Superbowl MVP Tim Smith, AND Superbowl MVP Kenneth Walker. Not to mention those other guys, Larry Csonka, Franco Harris, John Riggins, Marcus Allen, Otis Anderson, and Emmitt Smith.

Jadarian Price, best pick they could have made considering what was available.

Sam Darnold, the entire offense, and the entire defense approve of this pick.

There might be a reason for this where Seattle’s game plan is to make the Rams only use Puka and not distribute the ball to other players. If the Rams get overly comfortable with only throwing to Puka, the rest of the offensive skills players starts to play with less fire and less interest cause they know they will not see targets. Davante Adams was having a good game until Stafford stop going to Adams and just mainly leaned on Puka.

Seattle, might be intentionally, giving Puka, more opportunities to get the ball as a psychological ploy to make the rest of the Rams more disinterested in the game.

If a QB is spreading the ball around and gashing defenses, that’s harder to stop. But, if you allow one player to be the prime and only target, a defense understands limits to that offense. It’s somewhat genius from a defensive standpoint because every other offensive player on the Rams are already mentally checked out.

Take the best available HB to fill a need for a SB contending unit. They can still wheel and deal next years picks to move up in the second round if they really want/need OL/Edge/DB. That isn't all of a sudden off the table because they drafted a HB.

This FO doesn't play games.

I was thinking edge guy, Zion Young, not necessarily as a starter this year, but seemed like an important positional piece to financiallly/age improve with Mafe gone and Nwosa and DLaw coming to an end. But maybe they didnt even like Zion. And replacing Woolen's minutes with a top pick also seemed more pressing.
But......
The running game is supposed to be our identity. McIntosh, Holani, and Wilson won't certainly give us that respect. And a large consensus has felt K9 and Charbs aren't great enough. Well, I think JD(wonder why hus buddies dont call him JP) can be that guy. So im actually content. Especially considering I think Macdonald can get the most out of his defensive players. So maybe that edge and CB are coming next and we can all sleep well tonight

Florida and loving GOP country!
I like the kid's tape when I see if. I looked at college highlights for KW3 and Price and the thing that sticks out to me is that K9 looks faster, but Price doesn't dance behind the line too much and that he is a fluid pass catcher. He was limited behind Love, so I am interested to see how much more he has to give, but for now, I am cool with this pick, especially if we could not trade down.

We needed one healthy starter and a future Charbs replacement/bargaining chip, and don't forget about Emanuel Wilson at 2mil/per!

So cost is Wilson 2Mil/Price 2Mil/Zach half a year 2Mil, vs Ken at 15Mil/Zach half a year 2Mil

Save 9-10 Million (to pay for Shaheed)

If you don’t know why they drafted the running back, you haven’t looked at their current running back roster
And you have an option for a fifth year due to the first round rookie contract.

JS keeps proving he has a mastery of the cap and team building in mind.
