Draft a RB? Why?

Not my original thought but it’s a valid thought.

Tons of folks say RBs are a dime a dozen, right.

Why pay big money to a RB unless they are a generational talent. (Statement not an actual question)

We needed a RB, there was a good one available, and now we have a K9 replacement on the cheap.

Wasn’t my first choice but it makes a lot of sense to me.

What’s your problem with our first pick?

Just watched JS & MM presser as well as a little Brock Huard. Sounds like they were trying to work some deals but ran out of time and better options. Brock made a good point in that Price would make a quicker impact on the team than the rest of the available options. Selecting Price sounds like the practical thing to do after listening to these guys.

Well, we do need a RB and by all accounts the #32 pick is a glorified 2nd round pick. hey, can cross off the RB on the position list of needs.

He's fine. There were a few excellent CB prospects who I thought would have been better picks, but I'm more than content with what we did. I don't think we took a RB just to take one. This was considered the higher end of Price's projected range. Wasn't a reach.

The best argument they can have is the pick value.

There were higher value/ranking picks available. May not help the Seahawks but they were higher value

In a lot of ways yes but this could be a sneaky good pick in the way its not. 1st rounders get 5th year options which I love having for an rb since they tend to not have super long careers (depending on number of carries, etc of course). So getting him for another year cheap could be big down the line

My take is if you’re going to make a pick in the first round, YOU GOTTA BE SURE, the player drafted can absolutely START!

I’m not about drafting in the first round, high ceiling guys without a KNOWN PRESENT floor.

Jadarian Price, can absolutely be a Day 1 Starter!

Charb, is going to be on the PUP/IR at least for the first half of the season.

Price, will have to compete against at least 4 other RBs during camp and I think he overall is more talented then the 4 others he will compete with.

If Seattle, did not pick Price at 32, is anyone they would have picked capable of jumping in a getting a starting spot? Or would they have been a rotational depth player?

I think any other pick would have been hard pressed to challenge any current player of their starting spot. And why waste a first round pick on a player you know might have difficulties winning a starting spot over the current players on the roster? It makes no sense with first round pick.

Seattle made the SMART pick and that is what Super Bowl organizations do!

Price, can jump right in and win the starting spot, competitively, and earn the spot based on his talents alone. No other pick would have done so. Not anyone on the defensive line, not anyone on the offensive line, not a receiver, a tight end, a linebacker or any DBs could have.

I like the pick cause it was the smart pick and the best pick at the same time.

I"m not convinced that the drop off between Price and the others is that much. I'd have much rather seen us get a CB that could have kept up with Puke..I hate seening that guy gash us. I doubt if those two rated CB's will be yet available, come time for us to pick, but I wouldn't mind us getting Ponds if he's still around. I think he would be ideal to cover receivers like Puka

The draft was poor for RB talent and the team needs a RB so they took what was there. With Charbs coming off an injury, the team is going to struggle with Holani, Price, and McIntosh (if he even sees the field).

Like others, I would have rather them taken a CB, but we'll see how it works out.

While there was much speculation that they weren't done with the RB room, this basically confirms that rolling into the season with the rostered RBs was not part of the plan. Holani and Wilson and MAYBE McIntosh? Think about that for a minute.

It wasn't JS's first choice either since he was trying to trade down (according to his presser) BUT beggars can't be choosers here.

I'm cool with this.

And there will still be good players (CB, DBs, etc) available when the Hawks pick at 64 today.

It's a glorified 2nd round pick BUT with a 5th-year-option that is very valuable down the road.

I think the idea that a rookie CB that was still available at pick 32 could effectively cover Puka is probably not very realistic considering that most good NFL corners can't do that. The guy averaged over 7.5 receptions and over 100 yards per game.
