This loss is on Geno not Grubb. 3 int and 3 snaps whizzing on by Geno. 2 ints in red zone one going for defensive td. Not Grubbs fault.
Exactly. He was off on 2 of those 3 interceptions and the tipped on wasn’t JSN’s fault it was a poor high ball from Geno’s stinky ass. The center-quarterback exchange has costed this team 2 losses. Does he show up to the games stoned? Feels like it

Grubb didn't throw 2 picks in the redzone. One which was returned for pick 6.
Grubb didn't throw the picks but he continually drops Geno back into the same spot. Move the pocket now and then. Those DL guys just get to go to the same place over and over.

Move the pocket? How many times did we have a pocket?

Too many long developing plays, a very uninspiring run game... he just sets up his offensive line to fail way too much.

Just to put into perspective here, we run out of shotgun 78% of all snaps. The NFL average is 63% and last year we were at 64%. Even more damning, we run play action 12% of pass attempts, the NFL average is 21% and last year we were 23%. We don't make the defense work to figure out what we're going to do at all.

I think he needs to take a look at what we did with our offense last year in the back half of the season. Waldron had very similar issues early on and the results were like this (though they are even more pronounced this year) and then we changed up our game plan and we finished the year with one of the most efficient passing games in the league in the second half.

I mean... our run game still sucked, so he'll need to find inspiration for that elsewhere.

Grubs either got to go or get creative running Walker straight up the middle time after time instead of trying to get him outside on the edge is ridiculous is play calling is so obvious it's ridiculous again

Grubb isn’t going anywhere. This is a top 10 offense. They need to stop the stupid penalties and interceptions. Defensively they played better much better with EJ in the middle

No, this should be a top 10 offense and it's not. And the problem is, we were a better offense last year with a terrible offensive line, so this isn't new.

Grubb can put together some nice routes for our WRs, but he doesn't have the offensive line for those plays to develop. I don't doubt that he's probably putting together some underneath concepts with those routes, but Geno has to consistently pull those back to keep the TEs to block. That means all that's left is the long developing deep shots down the field.

Hey, when it works, it works great and creates some crazy fireworks (as we saw this game). But when it starts to break down it's a recipe for your QB to start forcing the ball down field or for him to be stuck in a pocket waiting to get sacked (as we saw this game).

Grubb needs to ADJUST. He's still calling this like he's at UW with one of the best offensive lines in college football instead of with the Seahawks with one of the worst offensive lines in the NFL.

Really odd watching everyone fight over which single party they want to "blame" here.

Newsflash: More than one thing can be a significant contributor to a loss. We don't need a scapegoat.

Geno playing badly does not absolve Grubb of blame for his his shit ass offense. Grubb being a shit ass OC does not absolve Geno's blame for his dumb interceptions. Neither Geno nor Grubb are entirely absolved of their faults because of the awful OL. The coaching staff is not absolved of their faults due to the awful OL. The awful OL having a low talent level does not mean that the coaching staff isn't making the OL look worse than it actually is. The defense doing decently well today does not absolve it of the concerning issues they've displayed in other games.

I don't get why we don't mix in more screens, jet sweeps or safety valve passes out into the flat when the D is just teeing off on our QB every time. Do something to slow down that rush. Our offense looks it's best when we were mixing in pass and run and hitting short to intermediate routes. Why keep going for long developing plays when our line is crumbling. I did see a few times where Walker had leaked out into the flat but Geno didn't even look that way. One time in particular no one was within 15-20 yards of him and Geno took the sack.

This is giving me flashbacks

we had the exact same complaints about Wilson and pretty much every OC he had

Fair enough, I'll give you that. However, I think Scoring % and points per drive are better markers of where a team's offense is than total yards per game and that's how I rate a team.

Last year, we were the #11 offense by those efficiency metrics.

This year--coming into this game--we are around 19th. Last year we had the same QB, basically the same skill players, an equally bad offensive line, and a relatively unreliable running game. So what's different? The coaches.

To reiterate a point I've made in other threads: I'm not on the fire Macdonald bandwagon, I'm not on the fire Grubb bandwagon, I'm not on the blow-the-team-up bandwagon. But if our coaching staff doesn't take anything away from this game over the bye-week, it's going to be a very big missed opportunity for them all and Grubb in particular.

Grubs success with his systems with the Huskies, well that team gad something we don’t have, an outstanding offensive line, best in college

Now he is trying to do it with a crap offensive line. When you have a crap line, everything else falls apart. I mean everything

We really can’t run up the middle of the line with any consistency.

I am tired of slow developing runs out of shotgun. And so tired of this fake hurry up B.S.

The play calls in OT on 3rd and 4th down were laughable. Wtf. Get a new coordinator.

Also it's the worst line I've ever seen. But if the coordinator isn't going to try and scheme around it that's an even bigger problem
I agree that the they were pretty bad 3rd and 4th down calls in consideration. However, i believe you just take hte field goal there and hope your defense can get a 4 and out. I put the loss on the Head Coach. Sometimes you just make a better defensive coordinator than a head coach. Grubb on the other hand, is not even qualified to be in his position. He is a college level play caller. Chip Kelly had the same problem. It does not translate to the professional level because there are less weaknesses and it really is just a chess match. Unfortunately, I also believe the league is somewhat affected by subjectively bias referee calls and the implementation of powder puff football rules. I'm not into it as much as I was in the last decade. Just like basketball, it turned into a phantom foul and three point league. Pro sports has been affected by the gambling control as well. I believe that the NFL is conspiring to affect over/under bettors. The point spreads have always been a sham, obviously. If you bet on spreads your living a fools paradox in the sports gambling world.
