For quite some time, I've felt that DK is simultaneously one of the more overrated, and one of the more underrated, wide receivers in the league.

He's a WR 1, but not a top tier (JSN, Nacua, Jefferson, Sutton..) WR1.

He currently sits in 23d for receiving, which is about where he belongs. Solidly second tier WR1.

He is paid like a top tier WR1, which is ridiculous, but I can't blame him for chasing the money. If someone is going to pay it, may as well take it.

I would be ok with his boneheaded penalties, if he was top tier. JSN earned the right to have an occasional unnecessary penalty, though I wish he would be a little more situational with them. Dunking after scoring, ok. Spinning the football in a direction that someone can interpret as being taunting, when we are in a scrap, not ok.

He's a great WR..but i had higher hopes of his success. He's built but he's been beatable on several occasions and dropped a few easy ones, but a fumble here or two an caused a few costly penalties. John was smart to let him walk, it was best to invest the money elsewhere. I still like him as a WR, but not like JSN.

Yes, I love how some were claiming JSN couldn't handle being the one. Or that he needed all the attention drawn to D.K..
That whole narrative was silly and just generally massively overstated.
If a player is good they will succeed period.

The Steelers are playing well too, granted their division looks like it might give the 2010 NFC West a run in the history books. As of now, I don't think either side is having regrets.

Hey, I'm not one who considers himself above taking shots at former players (evidence: my many Russ and Geno comments), but I just really don't get the intense bad will many seem to have towards DK. He WAY outplayed his draft position and contract, was a consummate teammate, learned from his mistakes and dialed back the jawing with opposing DBs (seriously, ONE 15-yard penalty last season), did all the little things that some receivers think are beneath them like excelling with run blocking, bought into the team culture Day 1, and any displeasure he had with the organization he had the sense to keep behind closed doors. I swear I saw someone on here earlier say that "DK demanded the ball with his mouth" or something like that. When was this?

I think fans just see how massively jacked DK is and think he's a failure because he isn't Megatron. Few are, and that's just not his game anyway. He was very effective at what he did do though.

He was widely considered fool's gold in the draft. He was determined to not be the guy who looked like Tarzan and played like Jane, and proved himself a force worthy of a defense's best attention immediately. He should be lauded for his efforts. We were very fortunate to have him. I hope the Steelers lose nearly every game DK plays, but not because of him.

His hands are not as good as the rest. There were a lot of balls that you would expect a receiver of his caliber to catch but he doesn’t. And of course the occasional blow ups that cost the team. He is overrated

He also doesn't run all his routes out and causes interceptions when doing it.
