He had seven penalties called against him last year. Two were unnecessary roughness (both in the same game) with one of those being offsetting. The other five were regular penalties like holding or passive interference with one of those being offsetting. So what this means is, he had a total of five penalties that were enforceable last year with only one being for a personal foul. Sorry, but I’ll take those numbers for a strong receiver.

Those 5 penalties were drive killing. That means he hurt the team because he couldnt control his temper. Forget about it being selfish, that's just plain dumb, and I for one, am glad the NFL is cracking down on that crap this season.

Also, you gonna take those penalties along with the critical 3rd down drops year after year? Not worth the headache in my eyes. Plus the man obviously wanted to move on.. .....

Sorry elite talent does not have these type of deficiencies year after year. His game is exactly what you saw last Sunday. Big play followed by crucial drop. Only thing he didnt do was get a personal foul penalty. But believe, they're coming.

I love me some DK, an alum and all, but, our front office and coaching staff determined that DK was part of the problem, part of the dead weight. He was let go for good reason.

He is replaced by Horton, nothing to worry about.

Plenty to worry about. We need a damn deep threat on this team.
MVS was the deep threat with size but he is a 49er now.

That is how Kubiak used MVS as a Saint last year when the Saints lost all their deep threats due to injury. This year the Saints have Shaheed, Olave and Cooks back in the fold. And they added Trey Palmer who is a deep threat too due to his jets. They could have kept MVS but they chose to go in another direction and trade for a younger player with size in Vele. Also Tipton looked competent as a downfield threat in pre season.

If I was the Seahawks I would fast track White into the rotation more as well as Horton. Let Kupp work in the slot or even if possible allow JSN work the slot because he is elite. Only other player who might be better than JSN in the slot in the NFL is Godwin as he was elite leading last season before his injury derailed his season.

Yes, stats wise. He had an average game today however, how many times was he double teamed freeing up other receivers? That’s what people fail to mention about him. Yes it’s not quantifiable, but it’s pretty well known that he draws a ton of attention from a defense.
💯.

I loved DK when he was here….but it wasn’t due to the misconception that he’s an incredible receiver.

His routes are truly ass. His hands? Hmmm below average for a receiver. Above average for a linebacker. Which leads to my next statement.

He was a LB lined up at WR. Physically intimidating. Great speed…fiery as hell.

He had to be accounted for on every snap. He could gut you if you failed to play him against your stud DBs.

Yes, most definitely will miss him. JSN will miss him the most because ALL the best will be coming his way.

Ok, forget his crucial drops, and drive killing penalties.

How.many times he run a lazy route causing an interception? how many times he couldn't get separation? How many times he lose on a 50/50 balls?

Again, DK is a good reciever. He is not a great receiver and certainly not elite. This offense can function just fine without him.

Oh and again, he wanted out.

Yes he wanted out so trading him is understandable. The offense with these receivers though IMO cannot function fine. That’s my issue, if you’re going to get rid of a guy like that and Lockett, you cannot replace them with Kupp and Horton and expect the O to be nearly as good. With DK we win last week and without DK the Steelers lose.

We can respectfully agree to disagree. I hope you're wrong and this offense starts thriving. Go Hawks.
