It's crazy to me that there are people on here who think Hurts is some JAG being carried to success. I was pulling for the Eagles on Sunday in a "screw the Chiefs" kind of way, but I've never rooted for Hurts. I hate Alabama so much that I was rooting for Michigan in their bowl game, I don't like Oklahoma either, and the Eagles are one of my least-favorite team's in the league. I still cannot deny that Hurts is damn good.
He had one dumb decision gambling on that deep ball that got picked, but aside from that, he was phenomenal. He showed incredible poise in the pocket, was throwing absolute dimes, knew when to run and was effective doing it. He steps up consistently when his team needs him.
He played 19 games this season and was responsible for 42 TDs and just 11 turnovers (six INTs, five fumbles). Some call him a system QB, but he has had a different OC nearly every season.
Some people are so desperate to prop up Geno that they have to pretend that a guy like Hurts isn't actually good, so they can be like "See? Any QB can win a championship with better pieces!".
Hurts is very, very good. It sucks, and he should be ours (damn you Russ and your no-trade clause), but it's true.
