Maybe Geno can win the big game after all
Sirianni is an offensive coach. But I thought everyone wanted the young offensive minded head coach???
Yeah, but they were the #2 defense in the NFL but were outside the top 5 (#7) offensively. The Eagles had a higher ranked offense as well.
I mean Trent Dilfer did.Maybe Geno can win the big game after all
The Eagles' offense was phenomenal too. Maybe balance wins championships. Even the 2000 Ravens had the league's fifth-ranked rushing attack and had Jamal Lewis, Shannon Sharpe, and Jon Ogden.
It was basically SB48Defense absolutely wins championships. That #1 defense made Mahomes and company look like absolute trash.
It was basically SB48
Was talking about how the game looked and the fact that defense absolutely dominated one of the best QBs but thanks for the lectureNo it wasn't. Super Bowl 48 put the best defensive team in the league, which was one of the two or three best in the history of the NFL, against the best offensive team in the league, probably the best in the history of the league. The top-ranked defense utterly dominated the top-ranked offense in that game.
In yesterday's Super Bowl, there was one top-of-the-league team with one of the best defenses in the league (second by points, best by yards by a ridiculous margin of 559 yards) and a top-ten-in-the-league offense (8th by yards, 7th by points) against a team that scraped by with a lot of skin-of-its-teeth wins, largely because of its top-ten-in-the-league defense (9th by yards, 5th by points), and ended up in the Super Bowl despite having a middle-of-the-pack offense (15th by points, 17th by yards).
I really don't see the two games as similar at all. Super Bowl 48 was a great offense against a great defense. Yesterday's Super Bowl was a complete team against a team with a good defense and a mediocre offense.
Are you implying that Geno Smith plays like a statue in the pocket?2nd and 7th, looks like you need to be great at both.
With this reasoning can we say it looks like you need a dual threat QB too? So maybe we can’t win a SB with a 36 year old statue?
And I'm pretty sure they said Philly never ran even ONE blitz, just the front four rushing for sacks. Was talking about how the game looked and the fact that defense absolutely dominated one of the best QBs but thanks for the lecture
