He can make all the throws, and I don't need to repeat the knock/narrative about him this season (i.e., can't "trust" him). But honestly after that flawless playoff run turnover-wise, what NFC QB (aside from Stafford whose on his last legs) do you "trust more"? And now with his SB experience and newfound confidence, he can be even MORE effective next year.

One of the biggest things a QB needs aside from his talent is CONFIDENCE.

Going into this year, Sam had the confidence of doing well in the regular season but there was still uncertainty in the postseason because of what happened last year.

I really believe that once Sam and the Seahawks pummeled the Whiners in the Divisional round which got the monkey off his back as far as winning his first playoff game and winning a big game (Period), that relaxed him and had him play more loose.

That enabled him to do what he did against the Rams in the NFCCG and what he did in the SuperBowl.

He basically showed Seahawks fans that he can manage the game and, if need be, make ELITE-LEVEL PLAYS to help win games.

The only question is who the OC will be to help continue to work with Darnold.

Maye benefit from playing bad teams. NE had a weak schedule. Next year will be the true story on them. But he is 23. Stafford didn’t win shit for years

It's very difficult to get to this point each year so when you have that oppty to win it all, you need to seize it 'cause there is no guarantee you get that chance again.

I like the fact that :

1.) He has 1 more SB title than the "Darlings" of the 2018 draft (Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, Baker Mayfield). Who saw that coming? I sure as hell didn't but I fantasized about it many times in the past and it's surreal that it's a reality.

2.) He's the FIRST *EVER* USC QB to win a SB. I mean considering all the USC QBs that have played this game (Matt Leinart comes to mind as the best of them), that is pretty amazing.

I don't think Sam played bad at all. I thought Christian Gonzalez played an incredible game. Sam only missed like two or three throws at most (mostly to JSN ha). The play calling was pretty boring, first down run, control clock. Lot of recovering from bad field position. You don't get 5 field goals because you didn't move the ball at all.

This game field dominated from the first moments. Unlike the Rams game where there was some heavily lifting needing to be done by him, it felt just more like the Patriots were going to go all out on trying to win on TOs and guess what? NO ******* TURNOVERS.

Sonic, I honestly thought that the Defensive Strategy of the Pats is "Wait for Darnold to throw a pick. Wait for Darnold to throw a pick. Wait for Darnold to throw a pick."

And when he refused to cooperate, they had NOTHING. lol

I think he's going to be pain in the ass in this league.

Good thing he's in the AFC though I saw our schedule and it said the Hawks will HOST the Pats at Lumen so that game will be an interesting battle between JSN and Gonzo.

I felt like Sam was a little off last night - I hadn’t went through the Gameday forums…and we were hosting a party so, I plan on watching the game…actually watching….today. I’m guessing many others felt the same way.

But, Sam definitely seemed off a bit. That certainly had an effect. But, as a lot of us have said all along, we just need zero to little turnover Sam.

As for JSN, no way our backs (particularly, K9) have a game like that without N.E. having to worry about JSN all night. Sometimes, it doesn’t have to be stats…JSN has to be accounted for…often double teamed…he definitely had a huge effect on the game.

No doubt tho…Gonzales is a dawg and their entire defense looked way better that I imagined.

That's what made the leadup into this game SO stressful. You HAVE to win it when you get the chance because it's so dang hard to survive the gauntlet to get there.

The reason for avoiding sacks and no turnovers is Sam. He played calm, cool and did what was needed. Can you imagine how many times Me3 would have curled up and been sacked if he faced that same pass rush? So happy with how Darnold played.

Yep. NEs only shot to win was to force TOs. Not a perfect game from Sam, but to be under that kind of pressure and only take one sack and zero turnovers was a huge performance.

He was not off, credit the Pats, their strngth inside rush against our O line weakness, he had people in his face all game plus blitzing like almost every down. They also were playing Man and jumping routes early, thought he was going to get picked actually they were so close. He had to step it up and basically trade punches with them.

Definitely great defense. I just felt like there were a few passes that we’ve seen Sam normally complete.

At least on two of them, he had multiple receivers open with more time than expected in the pocket.

I’m happy with his performance. Been saying it all season long…if Sam doesn’t turn the ball over, we’re winning. 200 yards? Sure…if we take the dub, who cares?

Not a knock/criticism. Sam did his thing all year. Always bumps in the road.

He came back after all the bs in the media…the narrative that wouldn’t die. He’s now a Super Bowl winning QB. Hells to the yes!!!
