Love the way Sam was able to do a little zig-zagging of his own on this 11-yard scramble.

When Sam runs, everyone drops everything they're doing and can simply gaze in awe.

He didn't even slide there about halfway through the run. He put a move on #48.

The great thing about Darnold is that even though he is 28, he is just now getting to learn the nuance of playing the position. For him to have gone the duration of the playoffs without throwing an INT is huge. Winning the ultimate prize is huge. He has needed confidence and stability. Even though his game Sunday wasn't a stat popper, its a point to build from in that he made the tight window throws he did when he did, that he moved us enough to continue to move the chains to get us points, and that he was steady under pressure. It stands to reason he will only get better if he keeps on learning and growing.

He also isnt going to break the bank if we extend him now to a solid, team and player friendly contract.

Glad he is here.

And just think....Sam now has his own personal Blueprint on how to win in the playoffs AND the SuperBowl going forward.

Just like with every failure (where he learns going forward)....With every victory, he learns going forward and he undoubtedly learned a ton this past season and postseason.

I think we will see an even better version of Darnold next September.

Hopefully we fix our RG problem and start the year being able to run.

This. And any turnover could have been game-changing. How did the Pats win their two playoff games? And it was clear from the 1st snap that their plan on D was to force TOs. Sam was remarkably patient and composed and stuck to our plan, where the only way Pats could win this game was generate TOs.
They beat the Chargers who were banged up, Texas without Collins and Stroud playing aweful, and Denver without Nix in a second half blizzard. The Super Bowl was the NFC championship, plain and simple.

After his 4 INT game in the first Rams game, I’m sure the coaching staff convinced him to take the sack or throw it away.

Good coaching does that.

But getting him to adopt Good habits are very important.

He sees the value of not turning the ball over so who knows?

Next season he may have only single digit turnovers and our team would be even more dominant.

BTW, nice...uhh..profile pic. *ahem* 👀

With how well Hawks are coached, how young they are, and the expected continuity of their core going into the 2026 season, it's conceivable that Sam could be the first to have three consecutive such:

I think a pretty unique quality with Darnold is that’s he’s willing and capable of playing multiple styles, whether it’s game manager or gunslinger. I’m not sure that’s the case with other upper tier QB’s who are always the center of attention.

Sonic, I honestly thought that the Defensive Strategy of the Pats is "Wait for Darnold to throw a pick. Wait for Darnold to throw a pick. Wait for Darnold to throw a pick."

And when he refused to cooperate, they had NOTHING. lol
They used the Rams Template.....and Sam said I need to learn from those mistakes. And he did. They did not watch the post game presser.

Yup. Teams are going to have to find another way to play Sam. The narrative that the Rams keep putting out there in bulletin board material is tired, old and lazy at this point.

Sammy D is 1 of only 34 quarterbacks to ever win a Super Bowl. Just think there are almost that many starting in any given season. Pretty special company to keep.

Very. I felt like after the Rams comeback game he had proven himself, but the nay-sayers said "nay". So he slaughters the niners in the playoffs..."nay". So he beats the Rams in the Championship game...."nay". So he wins the Super Bowl. They had the nerve at that point to say our road through the playoffs was too easy and we won IN SPITE of Darnold.

I'm not a violent man, but some of these nay-sayers really need a good whuppin. One of our own members even provided a list of B-C level quarterbacks that he felt could have won the Super Bowl for us this year!
