DQ took a 4 win team last year to the NFCCG this year and doesn't get CotY.

LJ passed for over 4,000 yards with a 41/4 TD/INT ratio in the regular season, on top of rushing for over 900 yards and doesn't get MVP.

SMDH!

I have no problem with Allen winning MVP. He had shit for weapons really.

I can see your point on DQ but the Vikings weren't expected to be anywhere near they were either with a cast off QB so I get it.

Allen was the clear choice, he doesn't have the weapons Lamar does. James Cook had a good year but he's no Derrick Henry. I put Zay Flowers, Rashod Bateman, Mark Andrews and Isaiah Likely well over Keon Coleman, Curtis Samuel, Khalil Shakir, a half year of Amari Cooper and Dalton Kincaid. Allen definitely deserved it.

The way I look at it is. If you remove Lamar and put someone else there, they would be much better than if you removed Allen and put that same replacement person there. Allen was more valuable to his teams success than Lamar was because you could replace Lamar and still have great success.

Yeah, I wouldn't say Lamar Jackson was robbed. It was close between him and Josh Allen all year. Allen's stats were pretty impressive, too. Yes, Jackson's stats were better, but it's not just about the stats. Allen didn't have Jackson's receivers or Derrick Henry.

And voters probably thought, Jackson already won it a couple of times and poor Allen's been so close before. (And really, Mahomes is still better than both of them.)

I probably agree more with your statement that Dan Quinn was robbed, but Kevin O'Connell did a pretty good job this year as well. When the votes were cast, we didn't know that the Vikings would get knocked out in the first round and that the Commanders would get to the NFC championship game. But no matter how you look at it, Quinn's job in Washington was truly impressive. Makes me wonder what he would have done in Seattle.

That’s what gave him the edge.

But…I’m with 12Angry…Jackson should’ve took the MVP.

Just saying I do understand why Allen edged him out.

DQ…definitely robbed.

Eh... I think McCaffrey deserved MVP last year, so no problem with Lamar not winning it this year. Lamar had King Henry this year, so as much as his season was--frankly--incredible at his spot, Henry was also in the conversation for MVP at one point in the year (as an RB, and we all know the MVP has become the 'best QB' award).

Bills were an overall better team with only one 'MVP' level candidate... I just think the argument for Allen writes itself from there.

Quinn definitely should have won Coach of the Year, though. I think voters were of the mind that Quinn had his 1st round QB and the Vikings didn't, therefore they had to overcome more. I don't agree (I don't think McCarthy would have been better this year than Darnold was), but I can see why they'd think that.

Washington had not won 12 games in a season since Joe Gibbs coached Washington in 1991.

Lamar Jackson plays in another stratosphere, 2x MVP, 3x all pro.
Josh Allen is awesome in his own rite and like people are saying, did more with less.
The Swiftie avalanche & a couple bad spots on the ball were just too much for the Bills Mafia. MVP is hardly a consolation prize for missing the SB.

I’m just glad it generated more click bait on the internet. I couldn’t live without another “who won the nfl mvp” story.

So it turns out that Dan Quinn got only one first-place vote in the coach of the year voting:

O'Connell got 25 votes, Dan Campbell got 15, Andy Reid got 4, and Quinn and Payton both got one vote. Kind of shocking that Quinn didn't get more.

I guess the voters were mainly rewarding excellence. Vikings were 13-4, Lions 14-3, Chiefs were 15-2. Quinn and Payton got votes for improving their teams. O'Connell got more votes because he did both.
