That's a major blow to SF. Injuries already happening and training camp hasn't even started.

That puts him out til about November or so, so the Niners will have him back for the late season push. Still, hurts not to have him for the first 2 months of the season. Here's a song for Crabs and the Niners to help ease and sooth the pain...

It will take more than 6 months to come back to playing football from a torn achillies tendon.

Doogie Harbaugh M.D. says that the injury is not season ending.

http://www.examiner.com/article/harbaugh-says-crabtree-s-torn-achilles-is-not-season-ending

After the second day of OTAs, head coach Jim Harbaugh spoke with the media today about the injury to Michael Crabtree. He said there was a successful surgery on his torn Achilles and that it will not end his chances of playing in the 2013 season.

"The good news is, he woke up from surgery and talked about the success of it," said Harbaugh. "It's a set back but it everyday is a healing day and we'll take a positive approach. It's time to look at the younger receivers on the team that will emerge because they have to. I'm excited to see them compete for the spot."

I guess time will tell if/when Crabs comes back this season to join VD as one of the meanest, nastiest STD... I mean, receiver/tight end duos in the league.
