We were celebrating my birthday which is Christmas and nothing was open so we were at some hotel in Bellevue and Jacob Greene walked in. I think it was the same day as the orange Bowl win over Miami.

I remember mating Ken Hamlin once. He was very arrogant to say the least, but nice enough to me. But he totally blew off a bunch of other people. I believe it was a day or two later he got cracked in the head.

I used to see quite a few Seahawks at the Newcastle Safeway. Saw Kam Chancellor in the produce section. I said Hi and thanks for the thrills. I told him my wife loved that he bought his mom a house. He was friendly. I saw the Griffin brothers shopping for Thanksgiving dinner. Ricardo Lockette. A few others. They must house them somewhere different now because it's been years since I've run into any players.

Did the Griffin brothers need a hand in their shopping? I’ll see myself out.

Post draft excitement has wound down for a bit. OTAs and mini camps are giving us a little bit of something to chew on. But we are still a couple months from the real fun beginning. It’s the slow season. I feel like I’m out in a boat fishing and not a damn thing is biting. Occasionally you might get a slight snag and think something is there. This part of the slow season is here. Bits and pieces to chew on but the meal is still far off.

So, to pass the time, dig into the recesses of your minds and tell us all about any occasions where you got to interact with a Seahawks player.

Mine was at training camp in Cheney and there were only a handful of people around. Matt Hasselbeck was coming out of the tunnel before practice by himself. He battled it out with Trent Dilfer in his first couple years in Seattle. At this point in his career and training camp he was Dilfers backup. I was just kind of hanging out watching whatever players meandered onto the practice field. Hasselbeck came up to me and asked me if I wanted his autograph. I remember thinking something along the lines of, “shit dude, you got beat out by Dilfer. Nobody’s gonna even remember you.” Anyway, I hesitated, looked at him and thought for a second or two and actually responded with, “no thanks I’m good.” And then I turned and walked away.

Sometimes people ask for an athlete’s autograph and get turned down. How many times does an athlete ask a regular person if they want their autograph and they get turned down? At least once that I know of.

Been plenty of times where I kind of regretted that.
Man, that is the definition of 'awkward'. Yeah, should have said "yes", but I get it. I don't get autographs, but when I did, it was mostly runners and other track stars. So I had a sort of an awkward moment 10+ years ago when I went to Dick Fosbury's table, and then Bob Beamon's table. There was no one at either table - just them sitting there doing nothing. I got to talk with each of them as much as I wanted, which was great. In retrospect, I should have paid them each for an autograph.

I have never met a Seahawk player. When I was ten I met a bunch of NFL players at a golf charity event, and it was one of the greatest days of my life. Lee Roy Jordan asked me if I wanted him to stand on his head and act like a monkey when I asked to take his picture. When I found Alex Karras, his assistant pretended like he was Karras. Karras ended up being hilarious. I think NFL players were a bit different back then. Dick Butkus was an a-hole, but all the rest were great.

I was at work in kirkland and in my parking lot. A black Audi came smoking around the lot. Dark tint loud music. I swear M. Lynch was hanging out the back door window with a drink in both hands, big smile and bobbing up and down.

Wow, hanging with both Beamon and Fosbury, very cool.

In December 2016, my dad and I were walking back to our hotel after the Seahawks - Panthers game (yep, that one where ETIII collided with Kam and broke his lower leg). We notice a little up the road there are a bunch of people crowding around (maybe like 20ish people) a store front. We get closer and it is Marshawn Lynch letting people in to his Beast Mode store one at a time to do some shopping. 😂 My dad asked me if I wanted to stay to see if he would let us in, but honestly the whole scene made me kinda sick. He was inside his store, there were folks crowded around the store front window taking pictures of him inside....to me it felt like he got turned into an exhibit at the zoo. We didn't take any pictures, but watched for a couple minutes and then left.
