It seems as though no one has said anything about Clinton McDonald at all this season. There is pretty good reason behind that, he has only made four impact plays this season one of them seven yards down field on a screen that could have gone for a lot more if not for his hustle. While putting together my compilation of season photos only one picture of McDonald stopping Steven Jackson was even worth considering for him as a player. He will probably be the easiest player on our defense to replace, but I wanted to point something out. I have watched the play with RG3 laying on the ground so many times over the last two days, it's scary, but there were no pictures at all of McDonald actually recovering the ball. Even during the broadcast, they didn't show the actual recovery, which is seriously weird. He finally made an impact play and no one focused on it and it seems no one here has even mentioned his part in it.

So, I wanted to say thank you Clinton McDonald for being the only one on our DLine who realized that the ball was on the ground and altering your rush accordingly. You could see that KJ Wright was on his way to get the ball as well, but the other guys on the line didn't seem to realize that the ball was live.

I had time to scream "PICK UP THE F***ING BALL!" three times before people actually started going for it. Never seen a fumbled ball just sit there like that for so long.

Everyone was kind of in shock that Griffen was just lying there on the ground. Normally there is a scramble for the ball by the QB that tells everyone the ball is live. As a defender, if you just see the QB lying there, you are probably confused and something in you probably assumes the play is over.

Yeah not only were our guys looking around confused, but the Redskins O-line just stopped and looked at RGIII. It was like a moment of shock for both teams.

I actually think he's been a decent player for us this year and last - certainly not a huge impact player, but a good role player in our DLine rotation.....And just consider - we got him in a trade for Kelly Jennings - If we'd gotten a jar of Peanut Butter in trade for Kelly Jennings that would have been a good trade as far as I'm concerned ;)

Rotation is important. Giving the "ones" a blow contributes in a big way to the overall game.
I hear about McDonald at least as much as Jaye Howard.

Regarding the Jennings trade: I think I would have held out for a jar of crunchy.

Not to mention with all the new rules affecting QBs, if you just dogpile on the guy (like they would've 10 years ago) you probably get a fine, so on defense, you're probably trying to figure out if he's down, if the play is over, if he's ok, where's the ball, etc.

I can guess there is a certain lag in timing, but it looked like McDonald never stopped his rush, but was looking for the QB. When you're rushing the QB, you're not looking at the ground, you're looking for him (unless you're rushing Wilson, lol).

LOL Ditto for me as well.

I think most of the Stadium (SKins fans) were concerned and focused on RGIII. As a Hawks fan, my eyes focused on the ball and how it just chilled on the ground for 3 whole seconds. Trust me, I was screaming BALL BALL BALL BALL!!!
