Can we stop the "Bradford" trial?

I have to say I particularly enjoyed the left foot hop and left shoulder dip manoeuvres at the 'already past you' defender. That's a classic.
For me it was the Russell Wilson-esque "dang it!" clap. Aw man I missed him! 🤣 Someone on socials said that he has like 5 Madden glitches every time he plays and now....I can't unsee that. How many times have you ran the ball in Madden and your OL just runs right by the dude they need to block? 🤣

Bradford should just line up like some of the tush push defenders. Get on his knees and line up sideways. He can cover 2 gaps and at least slow down the defender he'd normally whiff on.

Fans don't want to hear it but O-Line play isn't about winning your duel every play or making pancake blocks - it's about not losing quickly or badly multiple times per game. Greg Robinson had a lot of really good O-Line play for the Rams, but he'd get horribly beaten, and beaten quickly off the snap, maybe 7 times per game - and those plays would be drive killers. Bradford isn't that extreme but there are similarities. I can understand why management wants to persevere with him but I just don't think you can change the sort of athlete that he is. He can play good NFL quality on a lot of plays but the mistakes will be hard to live with. Sooner or later 1 such mistake will be game critical.

I don't think it's a matter of management not wanting to replace him. They'll continue to coach him up because that's what you do. It's not like there were guards available prior to the trade deadline. And there certainly aren't any quality guards sitting at home watching the games and hoping to get back in. I fully expect the draft will see another offensive lineman taken pretty high though. This year we got Zabel, next draft we'll get someone for the other side.

I can see that reluctance to start chop and changing the line this late in the season, especially with 4 tough games to end it. If Bradford keeps getting blown up though they'll have no choice.

Dave Wyman covers Bradford's negatives and positives:

Hour 2: Seahawks Guard Christian Haynes on what he’s learned in his second season

Bob and Dave are joined by Seahawks Guard Christian Haynes to discuss what he’s learned in his second season in the NFL, how’s his dealt with his injury rehab process, and what he likes about Klint Kubiak’s offense,

They look at what will happened to the offensive line when Jalen Sundell returns, they rank the Seahawks biggest areas of concern, including the run game, interceptions, and injuries, and

They break down whether Ty Okada or Drake Thomas has been the best backup this season.

He had every opportunity to beat Bradford in preseason and couldn't. Guessing every guard and center role was up for grabs with the new oline coaches and scheme.
I'm beginning to wonder if Bradford IS nothing more than a Practice Champion whose game doesn't translate much to an actual game?

He started the season off well and apparently came into camp in the best shape he's ever been. Seems to have lost focus though, possibly due to sundell being hurt.

That doesn't make much sense if Sundell's injury causes someone else to lose focus, though.

If "focus" is the problem, then the OL Coach's responsibility is to try and resolve it.

Unfortunately, based on his performance, it's a mixed-bag (at best).

Isn't Bradford the guy who got in a fight with Leonard Williams when he was on the NYG?

He's just kinda slow.

His processing isn't great. I've seen him blow a lot of people up, though. I don't think he's as bad as his worst moments would indicate. However, Haynes tends to get pushed backward with regularity.

I've been holding out hope that Cabledue or Richman would jump them both.

False. There is no such thing as a position that no team is willing to trade.

Did the seahawks offer a 4th and a 5th for a guard? That's what they gave up for a WR who isn't doing anything for us.

There is zero evidence that no guards were available, and there is zero evidence the Hawks were offering the kind of package they gave up for Mr. 10yards a game.

I would bet $100K that there were OL upgrades available for a 4th and a 5th (or less than that). The most likely scenario is that Schneider was willing to overpay for WR but was underpaying for OL, which is the MO of Schneider's career in Seattle.

You would think that by this time coaching up would have taken full effect. It hasn't. So the only way the "Bradford trial" will be nulled is by Bradford himself or our procurement staff. And so far our procurement staff is on trial too cause they have been entirely unsuccessful in producing a cure.

I have heard that Bradford continues to "win" the job in practice over Haynes.

Which makes me wonder if Bradford is a HOF'er in practice only to revert to PS-level in regular season games?

It's easy to play well against fellow teammates in a controlled environment but in live action against opponents looking to knock your QB into next week or blow up running plays, it's a whole different ballgame.
