Part of me thinks that Pete did this as a favor to Michael. There is absolutely no better situation for him in the NFL than the Cowboys.
I hate to root for failure, but I hope like hell this trade doesn't haunt us. Would never be happier in my life to miss out on a 7th round pick if he bombs there.
Yikes! Looks like a Trent Baalke draft! :stirthepot:  8)Hasselbeck":2hkgfga2 said:The 2013 Draft Revisited

Love JS ... But yikes... This is shaping up to be one dreadful class.
Doubt it. Another team would have claimed him off waivers.Infamous425":1ob7qsya said:if he was cut he probably would've signed with dallas anyways. to get any pick at all is better than nothing.
Correct on both counts.hawksfansinceday1":2t81oazv said:Sadly I doubt it. Just clearing the spot for Fred.HAWKAMANIA":2t81oazv said:Does this mean they are expecting Kam back soon?

Getting a 7th rounder might not mean much at first but JS and Pete have thrived on accumulating those late round picks and UDFAs. There is a whole other thread on how half the roster is undrafted guys. 7th rounder fits with front offices MO too regarding cheap bargain talent they can develop

Keep in mind that DeMarco Murray has long had a fumble problem, and he led the NFL in RB fumbles last season. It still worked out pretty well for the Cowboys as a trade off to Murray's awesome running ability. There are some teams who are adamant about ball security and there are some who view it as a trade off thing.
What strikes me as odd is that Fred Jackson, though I love the signing, had the highest fumble rate in the NFL last year for any RB with 200+ touches. And Marshawn himself had just 1 fewer fumble than Murray did while touching the ball 130 fewer times. That makes me wonder if Michael was traded for ball security reasons as much as we've been led to believe. I'm sure the ball security hurts his case, but I'm starting to think it's a fit thing. IMO, He's not really clicking with Cable's system. Too much of a finesse back. Lynch and Jackson are rumblers.
Can't a player refuse to be picked up by said team??? I'm asking, because I don't know.Tech Worlds":2e3cgsi7 said:Doubt it.
