No you don't and your schtick is really old, disingenuous, and way over done. We get it, you are pissed about Geno, you don't like moving on from the old guard. Geno was never loved enough by JS etc etc. Like I said you can join the Raiders board and get some Raiders gear, nothing wrong with that. You love them as coaches and players and thats your right but why stick around here and whine incessantly?
So in order for this to work - he will have to admit that the Raiders organization, GM, etc. is far superior and has made much better decisions than the Seahawks. Yeah ok...

I thought that I'd move the Darnold discussion here, instead of continuing it in the OTA thread.

Although I haven't been a Darnold supporter, I will say in his defense (and also in defense of @glenwo2) that never has a QB with Darnold's stats (35 TD passes, 102.5 passer rating) ever come to a team and faced such skepticism from its fans. I mean, I think Jets fans are more excited about Justin Fields, for crissakes.

Maybe Seahawk fans, like someone who broke up with a crazy girlfriend, just aren't ready to trust someone else yet, no matter how hot they might be.

I've always looked at Sam Darnold's 48 sacks as a very bad sign because the Vikings had the 18th-ranked O-line last year. But I read the PFF article and saw that although the line had an overall ranking of 18, it was ranked 27th in pass protection. Better than the Seahawks (who were last in pass protection), but not by much. It does put the sacks into a better context for Darnold.

I'm still not sure he can replicate last season's accomplishments, but I'm becoming less pessimistic.

The Raiders have a no name rookie GM and a HC that was fired by the Hawks.

We have Schneider and his hand picked Macdonald, a league certified defense genius.

Sam Darnold is Seahawks' franchise QB and QB of the future. He will be here for at least two years, if we cut him in 2026, which we won't, the cap hit would be $40 mil. Everything is perfect: an OC worked with him, a GM who trusts and loves him, and coming of age for the Schneider line. If that is not enough, after a tremendous breakout season, no GM except Schneider wanted him this off-season, he will play with over 31 chips on his shoulder.

John Schneider invested his reputation and possibly job security in Sam Darnold, 12s must rally behind John's decision! Third time's the charm, 12s, John brought in Lock, that geNO out competed Lock, John brought in Howell, the geNO out competed Howell too, third time now, no more geNO to ruin the plan.

Make no mistake. Sam Darnold is not a one-year rental that we could cut without cap liabilities, he is the franchise QB.

This is why he drafted Milroe to give him another safety line if Darnold fails

Did macD praise geno for his leadership? Just looking for a baseline
To be fair... the only thing I ever heard.. or even tried to double check is him saying he has "leadership qualities"

"Geno is our quarterback,":

"He's a leader on this team. He's going to be kind of a uniting force for us, a galvanizing force for us,"

"He's a big-time pro,":

"I mean, the whole thing revolves around the QB, and, he's our quarterback. And we're excited that he is,"

Then we got this one ROFL

"We can win a championship with Geno Smith,":

So... for funny reference made me want to check.. I use the premium premium + version of chat gpt.. with many diff models (People say it will replace developers.. it wont.. but it does HEAVILY AID me in writing components and code faster as a template... The code it writes it normally wrong, but the "structure" that is honestly most of the issue is there haha.

I use the scrubbing model not to ask for opinions but to reference all prompt keywords etc to scrub searches... here was its response

You’re absolutely right — after a thorough review, there are no instances where Mike Macdonald explicitly calls Geno Smith a "leader" in those exact words.

All the searches and transcripts (covering ESPN, SI, NFL.com, Field Gulls, Fox13, etc.) show plenty of affirmation—Macdonald calling Geno “our quarterback,” saying “we can win a championship with Geno,” and offering strong praise and support talksport.com+15espn.com+15si.com+15. But not a single time does he use the specific term “leader” or talk about Geno’s leadership in the active sense of the term (e.g., “he rallies the huddle,” “he leads the locker room,” etc.).

Dot Net paging Macdonald, you must praise Darnold, Lock and Milroe with the same forcefulness. We know you are reading dot net and we demand more praises.

I was only trying to respond to a post hehe... not supplant that idea

The idea was.. has the head coach talked the same... the verdict was no... Does that mean anything? Absolutely not... we dealt with Pete Speak for years

I think Sam will make the line look better. Sam was faster in his decisions. Simple as that. It was evident when they played us last year. His throwing motion is faster as well. I go back to the no Huddle. It was embarrassing for us. Guy was like aaaaa what do I do now? Raiders will see that. I am a Chip Kelly fan though. He might do something special. Really an odd pairing with Pete. Will it last or implode?

I know I touched on possibly several topics. I came here to talk about football not the dynamics of blogging.

Our front office and coaching staff clearly identified Geno/Metcalf as the source of our OL's struggle. To protect the reputation of our OL, we decisively traded away both Geno and Metcalf.

This season, playing in front of our three headed monster of a QB corp. Our OL shall be as great as it can be, shackles released, dead weights gone.

Not sure if Geno/Metcalf were dead weight in terms on on field production (Geno for sure in the RZ, haha), but they were malcontents. Their attitudes are what got heat put on them. To the point of enlisting No-E to buy into their rhetoric, who by all accounts was always a team first dude.

Darnold was brought in by the current regime to be the guy (for how long is up to coach), but they upgraded by subtraction on the team first, culture building aspect of the team. So, perhaps Geno/Metcalf were dead weight in terms of behavior. Excited to see what leadership he brings to the table when things get tough.

This isn't exactly true. Sam Darnold was about last in the league in time to throw--3.08 seconds. That put him 34th among QBs last year, during his best year. That's partially why he was sacked 48 times. That time to throw is the stat that worries a lot of Seahawk fans.

No doubt. And if it doesn't pan out, they can get out of the contract after this season.
I rate the Darnold contract and Milroe draft pick as JS' savviest move. If Darnold can't do it our QBOF is incubating in the roster spot created just for that purpose.
