Of course now the port of Seattle is doing its best to muck things up.

I understand their concerns. I hope that we can commit some money to streamlining the roads and train tracks in the area to make this a non issue. It needs to be done anyway, arena or not.

This is the same Port of Seattle that had it's leadership embezzling millions and had a major overhaul a few years back if I remember correctly.

I don't think it will. I think the port like the Mariners will be SOL when it comes to their objections.

Send your email's boys. 6 Months if far to long. We waited before and our team was stolen from us. We have a chance to get them back. Lets not mess this up.

In good news, remember that Seattle's Department of Transportation study Chris Hansen funded? Results are in:

Chris Daniels ‏@ChrisDaniels5
BREAKING: @sdot study discounts Port of Seattle complaints about capacity, says Port traffic "effectively separated from event traffic."

Chris Daniels ‏@ChrisDaniels5
BREAKING: @SDOT traffic study says existing parking/traffic/transit is enough to handle most #SeattleArena events.

HAHAHAHAAHA suck it Port of Seattle and Mariners

And Port trucks stop running at 430pm on weekdays

Chris Daniels ‏@ChrisDaniels5
@seattledot reiterates what I told you last night. Port container terminal ops from 7am to 4:30pm M-F. "conflicts...minimal." #seattlearena

Interesting, apparently the whole six months thing is bogus? I got a reply from my email to the council already; here it is:

Hi Mr. RolandDeschain,

Thank you for your e-mail to Councilmember Burgess and his colleagues. I wanted to get a quick reply back to you. The KUOW report has caused some reaction and we want to clear the record – KUOW will be posting a correction soon. Our goal is to finish the review before the Council’s August recess. Soon we’ll publish a draft review schedule showing our committee dates and giving a sense why it will last past June. Among the constraining factors is the legal requirement for 30 days notice in advance of a public hearing on the proposal.

Please feel free to contact our office if you have any questions or concerns.

Sincerely,
Nate Van Duzer
