I say i won't watch, but i will. I don't care because i will be smoking meats and drinking beverages. It's a social gathering moreso than a football game. The women like the commercials, my son and I watch the game, drink and eat. It's a scam these days, but whatever...I will end up watching.
FINALLY someone who just admits it. It's the Super Bowl. People will watch. It's not just a game, it's an event. It's chance to hang out with friends and family. Eat a ridiculous amount of food, drinks etc.

I will watch it.

However, I will not partake in having a drink, every time the camera is on Taylor Swift.

I will stick to playing my Glockenspiel, along to the National Anthem.

Sorry, but this loner doesn't agree that the social aspect of gathering to watch a game rule. If I care about the game being played, I want to watch it, not be sidetracked by small talk with others. I don't care about the game, and I'm not really a party person, so I won't be participating.

Of course I'll be watching. And I'll be eating and drinking, too. Wouldn't miss it.

And even though I'm not a Chiefs or Eagles fan, I do feel like I'm witnessing greatness when I see Mahomes and Barkley play. Felt the same way about Tom Brady, Jerry Rice, etc. I hope, for your sake, that you have the ability to appreciate that even if you don't have a rooting interest.

The same way I loved the Yankees-Dodgers world series this past season even though I despise both teams. A walk-off grand slam in game one, and then the Dodgers coming back from a 5-0 deficit in game 5 by scoring 5 runs in one inning assisted by error after error by the Yankees. What a wild win for the Dodgers and epic failure for the Yankees! If you sat that out, you missed a classic.

Sometimes you have to put aside your chauvinism for your team and your hatred for other teams (and Taylor Swift) and your conspiracy theories and your betting interests and just enjoy the game as a fan of the sport. You might even enjoy it more if your team's not in it because it isn't as stressful!

Exactly. What surprises me though is how many here admit they aren't so much fans of the sport as they are the Seahawks. Man, I am an OG diehard 12, proud member of the 38 Club, but I also love the NFL. I love the game of pro football, warts and all. I watch every Super Bowl no matter if I like the teams or matchups or not. Like I said in an earlier post, this is the last chance I get to watch an NFL game for 7 months.

I don't get the blasé attitude by many, I just don't. It's FOOTBALL!

Yeah I used to be like that. But today I even miss a fair amount of seahawks games, or watch parts of it here and there. I just have better things to do than get angry at my tv nowadays. I have a toddler at home (again), so life is pretty busy. And he also doesn't need to see dad lose his mind over a silly game that doesn't really affect anything important in (my) life. To each their own of course. However, part of me wishes people would stop watching because of the atrocious reffing that goes down, because it is absolutely possible to make it a lot more consistent. And the NFL will not care unless it affects the pocket book.

i will watch it Watching Barkley run is amazing and I get envious watching how good that Eagle D is. At this point I am just worried about finding a party cause my normal group was whining like crazy about not being interested. Some comments I have on the vitriol.

-I'd like to think that people who say they are sick of the Chiefs didn't cheer for the Pats during their run.
-As far as being bored with the matchup. I wonder if that sentiment was there back when I was a little kid watching football when it seems like it was all about Cowboys vs Steelers? Why are those type of multiple matchups looked back fondly but a second Eagles / Chiefs matchup gets crushed/
-I think all the great / very good teams get calls. Pats going them all the time. We were probably offended by the comments in the LOB days on how many calls went the Hawks way at home.
-Seriously you have that much hate for the Swift stuff? They basically show her for a couple of seconds after Chief TDs. I cannot believe the level of rage that bring out in some.

I have someone who I consider one of my closest long time friend, and I might have to avoid him for the next 2 weeks cause I am not in the mode for an evening long rant about the rigged NFL and sick of the Chiefs.

I wouldn’t say boycot. I’m just not interested in watching it.
I haven't watched an entire show since the Seahawks were in it. I wait until about halftime, then skip from play to play. Halftime is just getting over when you do this. Then repeat, unless it is seriously awesome. Philadelphia is going to win, I have no doubt. KC is not that good, and the Bills need to fire their Coach, and get one with a brain. Either that or get a new OC with imagination, and give him more input on calling plays. Bills win, if they mix in a little bit of short yardage plays.

I guess to add I am a football junkie, well except for the spring stuff. I really enjoy the chess matches between OC and DC in games, or when a color guy shows blocking schemes or defenders beating those same schemes. And these 2 teams do a lot of those things right to appreciate.

One thing that did catch my attention as it relates to the Hawks....both teams have been aggressive in the draft, trading up to get pieces like Worthy, Mahomes, Carter, DeJean. Something we need to do more of?

I don't have the social cache to make anyone's party invite list, so there's a legitimate chance I won't watch as I'm not remotely invested in it.

Maybe I'll tune in late if it's close. I'm sure I'll at least check the score periodically.

Zero interest in watching it. My NFL football consumption is at an all-time low so not watching isn't an issue. The product is clearly on the decline.

I decided I'm not watching another SB with Taylor and PMs who runs
like a chick.
I'll place a bet and do something else with my time.

Boycott isn't the word I would use because I am not passionately against it, but I have zero interest in watching it. So I will probably just go for a hike or hit the range.

I see a ton of people on social media saying they are boycotting the chance to witness greatness in 2 weeks. So what's your say? 3peat...Taylor..the celebs..the commercials...the super bowl parties with people who don't even what a football is...are you really gonna not watch or is it business as usual this year?
I'm getting my prop bets ready!

Some Prop Bet Options for The 2nd Annual Taylor Swift Super Bowl

Will Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift get engaged at the Super Bowl?
Will the MVP mention Taylor Swift in his speech?
Will Taylor Swift make it to the Super Bowl on time?
Will Taylor Swift be shown during the anthem?
Number of times Taylor Swift will be shown during the anthem? o/u 1.5
Will Taylor Swift predominantly be wearing red or black?
Will Blake Lively attend the game with Taylor?

I will absolutely be watching it. I've been a fan of Andy Reid since his Eagles days, and Mahomes seems like a pretty decent guy, for a QB. I applaud the fact that he's publicly said that he doesn't need to get more money out of the Chiefs, that he's got generational wealth already and wants them to be able to sign good players around him. (Not that he's playing for free or anything of the sort.) I think a threepeat reduces the "Tom Brady is the GOAT" discussion and puts Mahomes into it. Although maybe that'll get really irritating really fast - "it's the offseason and what should we talk about? Either the Cowboys or who is the GOAT!" And I don't mind wives/girlfriends/parents being shown when a player scores and a few other times during the game. They've been doing that for eons, we just notice it more when that girlfriend is the biggest pop star on the planet.

I will probably watch it, but not too attentively. Even if I am not interested in the teams, I usually watch all of the playoffs, but I usually do something else as well.
