As much as I hate to say it, I'm predicting AB will "suddenly" get his head right and have one of his best seasons this year playing for the Pats...Why? Simple, because Brady needs another ring and him along with Belichick need to shove it down everyone's throats for another year how GREAT and ONCE IN A LIFETIME they are. Makes me want to throw up how easily predictable this season is going to be for them. Retire already, FFS.

Left unsaid is how badly the Raiders handled this. Not that they were wrong to fine him initially, but once he did his mea culpa, they went and fined him AGAIN for yelling at their idiot GM over his first fine.

That second fine was $215,000, and no matter how many millions you have in the bank, $215,000 is still one huge pile of dough. And given AB's state of mind, that was literally dousing the situation with gasoline and lighting a match.

So you would have them do nothing when a player cusses at their GM, throws racial epithets at him, threatens to attack him, and has to be physically restrained from doing so by another player?

The racial slurs are unproven claims. But even if, it was never that serious to begin with.

Gruden and Mayock lack experience, and it shows. When you’re disciplining a player, you lay out all the stipulations. We are fining you X, you will apologize, and you will also lose your guaranteed money. You don’t throw in random disciplines and blind side people. That’s not how Belicheck or Carroll would have handled it.

Lol. No. But I’m also not going to trivialize the history of race in this country by pretending all words carry the same weight and power. That would be the true definition of being in a bubble/remaining obtuse.

My general point was that there isn’t any official proof that he did say it. It was a rumor, not officially proven by anyone. And it comes across as one of those things people repeat often enough that it becomes true.

My secondary point, is that an altercation like that, with the proper leadership could have been resolved. And wouldn’t have gotten to that point. Mayock is inexperienced and in over his head. So is Gruden. It shows
