Week 1 is in the bag. Some things we learned, the defense appears to be as advertised and the BOOM is back. Unfortunately our OL still remains the weak link on the team which will no doubt cost us some games this year. I have since been on record as changing my 11-6 prediction to 9-8, accordingly. Ultimately, we will all see how the season plays out.

The Patriots looked decent in their Week 1 outing, shocking the Burrow-lead Bengals in their house. Brissett, while nobody will confuse him for a Top 10 QB, was serviceable. Their RB ran for 120 yards so our defense will have to be ready for them to try to establish the run. This is one of those games that could go either way. They will be fired up for their home opener and their new HC seems to have their players bought in. We know the value of that.

Will I be shocked if the Patriots beat us? No. Offensively, we are trying to find our footing thanks to a patchwork OL. But our defense will keep the scoring from getting out of hand so as long as the Hawks can string together a few explosives, we come home 2-0.

I think Patriot defense will have some success (causing field goals) but do not believe the offense will be able to run successfully on us. I also think there will be at least 1 defensive score for us.

The Patriots run the ball to help Brisett succeed. I like our qb better. We can stuff the run which will allow the patriots to make mistakes. Will we have a guy spy their qb to stop his scrambling?

I think both teams had a surprise performance on defense and that's kudos to both teams coaching changes and philosophies, while I trust Seattle's offense a bit more than NE's the Seahawks offensive line is the X-Factor for this game, if they are Swiss cheese again then this could be a sluggish game leading to a loss, if they vastly improve this should be in Seattle's favor.

Even with the questionable o'line play, i cant see us laying another egg for half a game against the Pats. Much of what hampered us last week was execution. I dont think Mac will let it happen again.

I think we score enough to force the Pats out of their run game and then feast on brisket... er, i mean Brissett.

Something like 32 for us
18 for them.

I think this will be on the low with a nail-biting finish. Yes we have the better QB, RB, WR's...but the offensive line scares me and the Patriots' defense isn't below average. With that being said,

This is going to be a defensive game. Probably get a lot of bad calls from the refs/vegas bets.
