I think Walker should NOT be extended.

Even, if he somehow goes 2000 yards this season.

Seattle is in such a good position that RB is almost the least of their concerns.

Walker has not stayed healthy and Seattle loves drafting RBs so it makes absolutely no sense financially to do so.

The only extension I can see is if they give Cross a 3 year extension and hopefully not break the bank.

And even Cross is 50/50 on if he “deserves” an extension.

Those somewhat “destined” to get paid a little more: JSN will likely get paid, Spoon will likely get paid….

Seattle will be largely under the cap for a while. Young talented players will be the norm for Seattle until their rookie deals are up.

Lucas? Makes it all 17 games then yes.

Walker? Makes it all 17 games then most likely, but team could stick with Charb, Homer, and Martinez.

Mafe? Maybe. He’s a good not great pass rusher so if the price is right.

Woolen? I think the team really wanted to find someone in the draft and most likely move on but since it wasn’t addressed I then I think it’ll depend on the price tag.

Feels like a lot of people are only looking at past performance here. If JS thinks some players are going to breakout, he will pay them. I recall Kam being "overpaid" until he was the best SS in the league. Same with Lockett, he had some injuries and there were worries he hadn't earned it and now he clearly earned that deal. I think the new scheme will make KW very worthy, along with RBs being relatively cheap, of a second deal. Lucas too, now that he has his knee injury past him.

I am not expecting K9 to be retained going into 2026 whether he is traded or allowed to walk in FA. I don’t believe in giving a RB a 2nd contract unless he is a star

The new kid will be taking RB1 reps before the season ends. Walker can resign cheap as 3rd down back , or go find another team's injury report to sit on.

I thought the Lockett extension was so short sighted. One of my biggest misses.
