Thanks Lagartixa much appreciated!!!

To me this is sad news but something unfortunately expected. He certainly underplayed his contract here last season.

No E was a great player for the team and will certainly be missed.

Am somewhat annoyed that his cap money may wind up going to GeeNo, but then again my view on keeping the mediocrity that is him is clear. A player with a higher upside would to me be preferred. I apologize for adding my personal opinion here as generally this thread is simply factually based.

Updated.

Thanks Mistashoesta much appreciated!!!

The way it has been announced I suspect he's on a 1 year deal close to the vet. min. with perhaps some guaranteed $. They'd have announced he was a RFA signing if so.

Definitely he signed before being tagged. I’m sure they would have but if they both came to an agreement before it won’t be necessary. I’m sure he’ll make a good bit more than last year but it’ll be a very low number for the amount of time he’ll likely see on the field.

Thanks CostaRica appreciate your contribution!!!

As an exclusive rights FA it's safe to treat him as signed even if the team announcement on says he's been tendered as Brady Russell is presently unable to sign elsewhere until the team releases him. The team has 3 other ERFAs and I'd think a least one of them could be re-signed.

I liked this player and believe he was a contributor last season, he's truly a try hard player. My recollection is that he even played FB for the team at least once.

Thanks kidhawk, you contribution is greatly appreciated!!!

This trade is to me finally proof the team will be able to move in a positive direction.

I'm very curious if the team would be interested in Darnold as the replacement or bridge QB. Must say though I am curious about a couple of players in this draft.

Being reported by the Insiders the pick we are getting for Geno is 92. About as late in the 3rd as you can get.

Thanks kidhawk I'll adjust the OP once there is clarity on the pick. Still think it'd s great trade for the team moving forward.

Of Course time will tell, but I now won't have Gee-No to yell at on Sundays.

Thanks man, appreciate the correction.

Yep, I got it wrong as most draft sites only had the Raiders with one pick in the 3rd rd. Apparently the pick at #92 attributed to the Jets belonged to the Raiders they got that pick for Davonte Adams who they released.

I still like this trade for my team. Geno will now likely get paid and be the bridge QB in Vegas. To me he wasn’t worth paying top QB money to keep.
