Interesting John, you are a wizard on the money stuff. I think Saubert will be signed back to the PS and Ouzts will be activated from IR.

Suspect Saubert’s present salary will be guaranteed, somehow.

Looks like Hawkstorian may have been correct in that he was released to be resigned to a new contract. Interesting

Not sure I understand why Need to be released to be signed to a new contract?

John must have been right about terms in his old contract, unsure if there is Coolective Bargain language that prevents such changes regarding minimums. Sure seems like an odd situation.

I guess sometimes an extension just doesn't do the job and they have to write an entirely new contract. Not sure what that would be, but okay. Thought he had real value to the team and glad to see him back.

Maybe they needed some roster shuffling where the roster spot was needed temporarily or something. 🤷‍♂️

I think it has something to do with the minimum salary benefit, but I couldn't be certain at all about the details.

Those figures would seem to indicate the veteran salary benefit applied to both his old contract and new contract, so I don't really have a good theory as to why they did this. Brady Henderson just said on KIRO that the "reasons will be made clear", which is code for the team told the writers not to say anything and it will come up at the next presser.

Ouzts was designated to return to practice.

This doesn’t guarantee he plays this week as he isn’t activated yet thus no corresponding move has to be made for now. They have up to 21 days to activate him while he practices with the team.
Hooray! Progress is progress.
And speaking of progress I sure would like to see them jump on Zeitler (?) or someone to fix the RG spot sooner than later.

Sure seems that way.

They've been kicking tires on various returners for while now and Jones appears to just be another on a long list.

Here is a WIKI for Velus Jones:

It would seem as if his hands could be a bit suspect which is a bad thing for a KR/PR, this may explain his inability to stick elsewhere.
