"Receiver Ty Scott is back with the Seahawks after signing to the practice squad on Tuesday.

Scott, who initially signed Seattle at the beginning of training camp, was waived when the Seahawks reduced to 53 players prior to the start of the regular season.

Linebacker Michael Barrett was released to make room on the practice squad."

Find it interesting that they chose Scott over Winston Jr. I checked to see if he had signed with anyone else, but found nothing.

My thinking on Winston is he's been around the team for a few seasons and never quite took the next step. He was special at times but never consistently so. Time to look at another player who also has potential and is younger. The team keeps these guys around for few seasons to see if they can breakthrough and then lets them move on if theta don't happen. I'm actually expecting the team to eventually add back OLB/DE- Sheriff to the PS.

Receiver corps chemistry? They must all work together as one. Running interference for one another. Running decoy routes. Blocking etc. Although, Ty is a couple of years younger, a couple of inches taller and carries a little more mass. Team seems to me to be trending in that direction.

It's a scout team practice spot. I think the priorities are different than for the regular roster. Tyler Mabry is an example of one who continues to provide a valued scout team role.

Only 5 offensive players and all of 12 defensive players listed on the practice squad. Interesting.

These numbers will undoubtedly change as the season runs along. Perhaps there are reasons why they are skewed this way? At present there are 2 more players on O than D on the 53 as well that 17th player DE is really a JAG or a warm body for practice situations.

Perhaps as well there is a need for a greater number of defensive players for competitive situations or training or there are a few unreported marginal injury situations that require rest for the starters or those on the 53. Maybe as well the players here are those seen to have a higher potential upside that others didn’t or these are players at positions seen to be of higher potential value to the team presentl.

There are some troubling injuries of players that were expected to be significant contributors to the D and the numbers inequity could just be Mac’s work around.

It might be interesting to see what the Ravens did with their PS as well. However, one thing for sure is that the situation will continue to churn.
