Good night for Seattle sports. If that was any GM other than Billy Bean, serious questions and possible sackings would be occurring given the collapse of the A's. How can you cruise the AL west pretty much all year to suddenly be 11 games behind the Angels and be about to be taken over by third place Seattle?

Exactly. A three run lead is a bore for Rodney... A one run lead with two guys on, and he's nails. I don't understand. Every save is a heart attack

Hard to argue with 45 saves vs. just 3 blown saves. Not a classic closer but he gets it done.

And, hey! How about a shout out to Paxton? Really rough start, but gutted out 5 innings for the win. Sure, he needed some help from the bats, but he survived until they woke up. After all is said, tough game but a good one.
