That's exactly it.... His incompetence in acquiring players is so staggering, I can't believe people actually have faith that this guy is going to swing some magical deal. Every single year, they go into the trade deadline with glaring holes, the same glaring holes from the off-season that didn't get filled & from the PREVIOUS trade deadline. It's almost comical that people totally blame ownership & not this guy. Tampa has far less payroll every year & they've been to the postseason (including W.S.) fairly regularly since Jerry arrived in Seattle.

So the mariners might make the playoffs, they have 4 all stars, they might have the most dominant overall pitching staff in baseball, and we have the hr leader. With all this it still does not feel like a team running on all cylinders. When this team was running hot we played at a .650 clip. I wonder how many enemy fans feel the same way about their team. Our expectations are very high around here. And we have been waiting too long
