So Elias didn't pitch that far, but I thought he pitched a decent game. Yes he gave up a lot of walks but he managed to get himself out of trouble every time. He only gave up 1 run. What your take on his pitching?

Seems solid 4/5 stuff to me maybe even 3. 1 run? What more can you ask from a backend/MRP?

Elias is slippery. I wouldn't mind him as a 5, but he pitched like hell today. Five walks, a HBP. I don't agree with sending g him down to Tacoma to, "manage his innings/workload." They could easily do that with him staying in Seattle.

6 walks and a hbp is bad. I don't care how many runs he gave up. That line while giving up 1 run is not sustainable. He's been on and this year, hopefully that was one of his lesser starts.
He's a decent 4

he needs to trust his fastball. Of his 6 walks I believe 5 were offspeed pitches in 3-2 counts, 3 curves, 2 changes.

Come on Curry... thats about how 95% of fans of any team in any sport take their support. There is rarely objectivity, and even with it you rarely find it on an internet message board.

i'd say enjoy it. let others play both sides of the fence. atleast its relavent baseball talk in August.

I will be part of the 5% that will call them on their BS. That is as much of a right of mine as their disingenuous "fandom."

Funny, because I believe that there is nothing worse than fair weather fans. Weird, differing opinions.
Ahhhhh the "Superfan card"........ Well played! :177692:

Uncle Si and I have butted heads in this very forum a lot, but he is 100% right here....
....and for you to attack Mizzougirl, is very poor form.

So wait, I am supposed to feel bad/guilty because I am a better fan than these guys? Ridiculous. I guess that I should remain quiet so the rest of you can feel better about your flimsy fandom.

As far as the fence riding Missouri goes,,, she can handle herself there hero.

You can ask that he keep runners off of the basepaths. That strand rate is not sustainable. It is also taxing on our bullpen.

In a perfect scenerio yes. Except baseball like life or the seasons isn't perfect.

He consistently toes that line though. I have to keep reminding myself that he is just a rookie, but he has neither regressed or improved. Roenis is just kind of, blah, to me. He has some good stuff, but very inconsistent.

Being a fan through the good and the bad just means you enjoy being in an abusive relationship. Bandwagon fans are genius.

for the season his strand rate is 70%, FIP and xFIP are lower than his ERA.
So if that is what you are saying, I'm not sure I agree with saying he consistently toes the line.
His stuff is good, but he has a ways to go mentally and with his command. Assuming health I think his future is bright

Jesus Christ!
Thanks to whoever helped Curry change his tampon all the way up there on his high horse so this could get back to a baseball thread instead of a fanhood measuring contest...

If you need me I'll be on both sides of the fence listening to the insightful baseball conversation that usually goes on in here

I would wager that a common utterance that you have heard throughout your life sounds a lot like, "A day late, and a dollar short."

Watch him pitch. Don't just read a stat line. He will have a horrible inning or two and a clean slate for three. Or, vice versa. The only thing consistent about him right now is his inconsistency. I like him. He is a rookie. I am uneasy about a victory every time he pitches because offense, defense, and his ability to escape have to all be clicking or the team loses.

Listen, I usually enjoy your pointed tongue in cheek demeanor but when I'm not on an internet forum everyday and I'm scrolling through 2 or 3 pages to catch up on the regularly insightful M's banter here but all I get is you brow beating other people because they aren't hardcore enough for you, I have the right to thank whoever rinsed the sand out for you and got the conversation moving again...
And yeah I hear that a lot why?

The IGNORE function works very well. However, if someone quotes a person on your ignore list you will see what they say.

After reading a few quotes, I just laugh as I have had superfan on my ignore for over a year. He/she/it hasn't changed and never will.

Telling people how to be a fan is a pretty big no-no here.

You are sexy when riled up Rob :D

This team is going to lock down the wildcard folks. This front office has built a damn exciting team in spite of their best efforts. Been fun to watch.

Is it me or does Austin Jackson look more patient at the plate than he did in DET?

I know he's not hitting like he can yet, but I feel like it's going to get there quickly.

Been a LOT fun this summer. However, I'm still skeptical of reaching the playoffs because of the Sept. schedule. Prove me wrong Ms!!
