Finally found someone that agrees with me here.
I see that it is yourself. That figures.

he's not worth the effort. plenty of Mariner discussion can take place on here without him

Of course. I just wanted to point out what the intent of post he quoted was but it seems he didn't understand the joke was on him.

Not true. If the Mariners happen to lose a couple of games then you will all disappear and say, "thank god football is here."

Both of you are inept when it comes to sensing sarcasm, which my response to the opinion comment was dripping with.

You mean like normal people if your team is absolutely out of the division race or either wildcard? Hate to break it to you but the Mariners are playing well enough to be a factor well into September and if they get a break or two they have a better then decent chance at being in a divisional playoff series. And unlike prior Mariner teams this team is built for playoff success rather then regular season success. Pitching rules everything in the playoffs and the Mariners have among the best in baseball.

I just can't say that they will absolutely secure a playoff berth of some stripe based on prior experiences concerning the team.

Too late to backpedal now.

I don't backpedal. If you cannot see the sarcasm in me agreeing with a post where it was stated that I give others their opinions, then I don't have the words for you. Nothing else that I have said in here contains sarcasm. I meant every word. I think that you are a fair weather fan and you have admitted as much.

Well that's been obvious for several posts now. That YOU are unable to grasp sarcasm not anybody else on the thread.

I find it odd to have such a huge problem with someone that just doesn't feel right about the team yet. The Mariners have been around for 40 years and haven't won a dang thing. Even our 'miracle' runs ended in the ALCS or before.

I don't know about Mizzou, but watching this team everyday for the past few years I can tell that it's a significantly different and WAYYYY better team. Especially with the offensive additions. But, if you weren't watching everyday, you might have a more difficult time.

Doesn't make you a bad fan. I dislike when other fans comment on a person's fandom. I didn't watch every Hawks in game in 2008, I don't care much for watching preseason games, you're not a better fan than me because you did, you're just a fan with more free time ;).

Come on Curry... thats about how 95% of fans of any team in any sport take their support. There is rarely objectivity, and even with it you rarely find it on an internet message board.

i'd say enjoy it. let others play both sides of the fence. atleast its relavent baseball talk in August.

I will be part of the 5% that will call them on their BS. That is as much of a right of mine as their disingenuous "fandom."

You are not the arbiter of fandom, so who cares what you think?

There is nothing worse than people that act like jackasses calling others out on being a fan.

Funny, because I believe that there is nothing worse than fair weather fans. Weird, differing opinions.

We know. You won't shut up about what you consider to be fairweather.

We get it, move on.

its gotta feel to it doesnt it? reminds me a bit of the two 90 win teams that followed the big 116 win season. Just expect them to win, or be damned close in losing. confidence in hitting, consistently near dominance in pitching

Good vibes right now. I fully expect a solid show against the Phillies and BoSox over the next six.

For me, it feels like 1995. Their first playoff. In August 1995, they were about 12 games out of first place. At that time, there were no wildcards so it was winning the division to get in. They caught the Angels and then proceeded to beat them in the AL West division title game (play-in game).

I remember that year. Was at two of the run in games. Missed the play off, but remember Niehaus' call. Remember it audible laughing as that game progressed (I think it was Langston pitching for the Angels, and he went ballistic in the dugout after his bad inning). Then the epic Yankees series.

This year's team, of late atleast, just has that mix akin to the early 90s teams. Great pitching, very good defense, good to sometimes solid hitting.

I dont see the M's getting to 90 wins. But the teams arent dissimilar in setup.

This team goes to the ballpark expecting to win. When the bases are loaded and they ground into a DP, they are reallly really mad. I don't know how many times I had to watch these teams get runners on base, ground out and walk back to the dugout like it was their job to suck.

Felix is going through the motions, in the best way possible. He's so laser-focused right now I'm blown away that he gave up a hit this weekend.

I LOVE watching this team and Mariners fans are coming back like the plague and it's awesome. As much as I enjoyed hanging out with a few buds and having a conversation at the game, it's way better to hardly be able to hear yourself because the crowd is ALIVE.
