:13: We need an impact dt, whether via draft or free agency.
Melton or Starks? Maybe too expensive :?: But maybe a more immediate impact.
Bennett -de- from Tampa is an intriguing possibility- had 9 sacks.
But if Clem comes back and produces, I think we'll be ok at de, especially as Bruce should continue to improve. I still maintain Bruce would have had way more sacks with more pressure up the middle.

More speed at wr would be nice, too.

heres what I think, to make the NFL the most dominant sport ever you have a 16 team playoff using a double elimination bracket format!!! seed 1-16 using the current tie breaking procedures

add 2 more games each season and eliminate 2 pre-season, or add 2 teasers and the break and the finale, 2, 40 minute teasers..

all other ties are played off during the 2 week break..

I mean its only fitting, I can see this short playoff format if you play like 40-120 games a season but this short playoff where the wild card is a joke is a joke as well IMO..

footballs almost over folks, 3 more games then poof! then what? I can't possibly watch that much porn... lol

the NFL is basically a sudden death format in itself, 16 games 3 playoff rounds of 4-2 teams and then the title match??? at least add a few more games and a 16 team playoff, please... give more teams a chance, build all franchises sky high so that way all teams can afford decent playing surface...

How is the wild card a joke? There should be an advantage to winning your division and having the best record, which the Falcons did. And just recently the Packers won the SB as a Wild Card.. its not impossible.

I personally feel the NFL Playoff System is fine the way it is.

..

Anyway, as much as I would love a Greg Jennings or Dwayne Bowe.. I think kmedic is right.. need to start thinking extensions too. Luckily the FO is all over the cap situation. I'm sure there's a way we could add an impact FA and still have enough to lock up Thomas and Okung (first big players up for extension)

I really really hope JS and PC stick to the plan of building via the draft versus bringing in FA.

We are woefully thin at WR and this is a great free agent pack of WRs. I normally don't endorse going the free agent route with WR, but picking up a Wallace, Jennings, Bowe, Welker or even Amendola would be a sneaky play to win move

Then we could draft all Linemen on both sides of the ball

Not sure I completely agree with the sentiment that we need WRs; especially high priced FAs. I think (just my opinion now), that with Wilson's mobility, our receivers need to LEARN how to come back to the ball or get open. With more experience with Wilson, they will begin to "think as one" and make those scrambles even more significant.

I also think that Wilson "might" be holding onto the ball too long....that on some plays, the receivers are actually open for a moment but he misses seeing them. As good as Wilson is, he is not immune to this...heck all great QBs are immune to this.

Then again, the plays designed by Bevel may have poor routes for the defense on the field at that time. Again, it would be nice if the WRs we have recognize what to do in the event Wilson is scrambling. I like what Tate did....coming back TO Wilson when the protection was breaking down. Our other receivers need to think the same way.

Just think though... if Rice gets hurt, we are facing the possibility of starting a WR corps of Tate, Baldwin and Kearse... that is not gonna cut it...

a WR1/chain mover does so much for both sides of the ball, really...

I really think getting Jennings on a 3year deal would be ideal. He'd fit perfectly into this offense.

An impact DT but they are about as hard to find as franchise QB's it seems like. Remember when we had Tez? Seems like every DE we put in there during that time became sack-masters.

I'd be just as happy if we snagged Starks or Melton in free agency and drafted Hopkins or Wheaton #dream offseason

I do agree with this. I think we could get Jennings to come over if GB lets him go (which looks like will be the case with the emergence of Cobb).
