In their press conference, he said they had a few trade downs set, but teams kept trading up ahead of them. They also only wanted to move down a few spots.
Sarcasm??? Dude took TWO separate rosters and turned them into SB champs. He hired Mike. He just picked up a hell of a RB with the last pick of a fairly weak draft. This team just got better. For sooooo many reasons, I am not a sold out fan of JS. However, the trash bag seems to come out on top...and he just won a super bowl. It hurts me, but give him a chance
Agreed! No matter if you prefer first round value selections (DBs, D-Line/Edge) or BPA….Sarcasm??? Dude took TWO separate rosters and turned them into SB champs. He hired Mike. He just picked up a hell of a RB with the last pick of a fairly weak draft. This team just got better.
Schneider has shown poor judgment in the first throughout his tenure. He turns down trades because he didn't think he was getting good enough value, then he wastes the 1st rounder. It's been his MO....we did NOT trade down with our first round pick. And that's with picking at #32 in a year where we have just four picks total, and with the six picks before ours - and eight of the last nine - all being traded.
It might not be our thing anymore.
Ifedi, Penny, and the worst of those..Collier. How many of those were Pete’s guys? JS didn’t have ultimate authority…PC did. Perhaps we’ll never be able to answer that.Schneider has shown poor judgment in the first throughout his tenure. I love what he does after the first round, but he's been really bad with his 1st rounders, whether he's trading them for veterans (Harvin, Graham, Adams) or using them because he rejected the trade offers to move out of 1st round. After all these years he still hasn't been able to fix his terrible approach to the 1st round.
Thism this, and ONLY this! These last couple drafts are his first ones where HE has final say, rather than Pete Carroll.
You act like "Pete" wasn't behind any of that, he was JS boss for a long time,Schneider has shown poor judgment in the first throughout his tenure. He turns down trades because he didn't think he was getting good enough value, then he wastes the 1st rounder. It's been his MO.

The selections that we know JS had ultimate authority on have been phenomenal.
TLDR: you trippin’ bruddha!

JS talked about it before and after our pick. He wanted to trade down and had options until they all traded ahead of us. He made it no secret, as usual, trading back was plan A but you need a partner to tango with. Doesn't mean it's not our thing, just means it didn't come to fruition....we did NOT trade down with our first round pick. And that's with picking at #32 in a year where we have just four picks total, and with the six picks before ours - and eight of the last nine - all being traded.

Im aware, that's what he often does. Every year people assume we're going to trade down for some reason, but Schneider doesn't do it just to do it, and he hasn't felt comfortable pulling that trigger in a surprisingly long time now.JS talked about it before and after our pick. He wanted to trade down and had options until they all traded ahead of us. He made it no secret, as usual, trading back was plan A but you need a partner to tango with. I just think we have liked the pick available more than the value of trade possible. I don't think it's a "We are going to do it this way always" thing. Drafts are just too liquid to be that locked on what you're going to do....we did NOT trade down with our first round pick. And that's with picking at #32 in a year where we have just four picks total, and with the six picks before ours - and eight of the last nine - all being traded.
