If that happens, I will feel exactly like I did after XL*. Because the only way that happens is with ref steering. Again. Like what happed to NO with this same team. And the NFL didn't even try to hide it, or care at all.

Yea, probably the one thing that could actually piss me off.

The NFL/refs/Vegas predetermining the outcome.

*I might single handily burn a city down.

I'll be disappointed for sure given the opportunity but nothing will ever be as crushing as the manner in which we lost that super bowl. This season has blown past my expectations already. Would probably also tell myself that Stafford doesn't have too many seasons left as well.

With recent re-signings, the front office and Executive Of The Year are already building for next year. Of course there will be emotion either way on Sunday but I can look at the fact that there really, honestly, are spots on this roster where the offseason will bring upgrades. The cap is in a reasonable place. Sure, a couple tough decisions will need to be made, but my point is that my perspective is similar to last off season: the 2026 team will be better than the 2025 team. Nothing has changed to alter that expectation.

Lots can happen... blah blah... OK. I think the Seahawks win on Sunday and then again 2 weeks later. If something other than that happens, it'll simply be Atlanta of 2012 and a springboard to higher achievements. Frankly, win or otherwise, I'm excited about next season already. As good as this D is, it'll be better next year. The historic accomplishments of the 25 Seahawks will snowball into 26. It's predictable, almost inevitable.

Whether the dynasty starts in 25 or 26 will be unimportant if/when Macdonald retires in 20 years with more rings than Belichik.

I'd be bummed out for awhile, but come through grateful for everything that's happened this season. Rams epic comeback was the highlight, and both 49er wins were incredible.

Then I'll look forward to the Rashid and Max Crosby signings in the offseason.

I think we're winning this one though.

This team is too good to lose to the Rams. If the unthinkable happens, then I will think that the Seahawks have defeated themselves. So will Mike Macdonald and John Schnieder. They ditched Ryan Grubb last season after a self-assessment. They will make another self-assessment at season's end and take the appropriate steps necessary. Macdonald's loyalty is to the mission, not any given player or coach. For that reason, even if they win it all, a self-assessment will still happen and adjustments will be made. This is what happens when you make "getting better" a habit instead of a reaction.

Well, this is actually the Super Bowl, right? That's the caliber that these two teams are playing at.

I'm not going to even acknowledge that "it" might happen. We have the momentum going into this match. We broke the brakes off the 49ers (Yes, I know, an injured team. But that same injured team beat the Super Bowl defending champs. We still made a solid statement )

I think if "it" does happen, I will first be looking at the officiating. Refs love LA. They love to throw the PI flag against us even when it is clearly isn't .

Afterwards I will be going through the game play by play to figure out what we did wrong. If it's Myers missing FG's, missed blocks, Darnold throwing too many interceptions (knocking on wood here.)

There's so many variables.

Will I be calling for anybodies head? NOBODY on the team. Absolutely not. These boys have played their hearts out, they have trespassed into the domain of the Gods and have become a team that NOBODY expected them to be.

Now if it becomes a problem with the refs calling bull crap calls just to see the Rams in the Superbowl? Absofu**inglutely.

At any rate. That's not going to happen. We are going to put belts to asses. We are going forward.

My hope will be that we make an upgrade or two, and that we find good replacements for any key players we lose.
I hope we do most of that via the draft, and any veteran additions continue to be as successful as the ones we’ve already been made.

Bottom line, I’ll be sad but certainly not mad.

Before the season I believed we were one more draft away from moving passed the Niners and Rams..do I’m enjoying the ride..

There’s a chance at losing every time you step on the field but I believe we are the better team as a whole so I’m confident. IF we lose another gsne this year and font get the Lombardi I’ll be equally disappointed no matter which gsne it happens but overall this team is beyond what I expected this season so I font see any heads that need to roll. I’ll roll into the offseason and see how we replace the players we lose whether it’s by choice or demand and prepare for another run next year.

For now I expect to win two more games.

I’ve loved being a Seahawks fan for most of my 53 years on Earth. This has been one of my favorite seasons. Regardless. Only one team every year goes home happy and there is a helluva shot it will be us.

If the ride ends this week, I’ll congratulate @RedAlice and start looking forward to draft blogs and trade rumors heading into the offseason.

Then I’ll get prepared to hear the experts talk about how in 2026 the healthy Niners will reclaim their division crown, Stafford will win his second MVP, and the Cardinals will finally break out with a new coach and young talent. They’ll be a few mediots who put us last in the division becasue Sam had a shitty game late in 2024.

Personally. I'll be sad but mostly proud of this team, excited for the future, and grateful for the staff and FO we have. The future is bright for this organization.

I believe that this team is absolutely RAZOR focused on winning this game. Going back to MM's first team meeting that aired recently you see the consistency in the message, the mission, and the mindset from day ONE. This team is a brotherhood that believes in each other. That doesn't fade when the tough moments come. It busts through walls like an unstoppable force. I don't think this team sees anything but victory at any cost right now and I love it.

On any given Sunday anything can happen. Vegas reckons we have about a 60% chance of winning, maybe it is 65%, certainly over 50% because we are the best team in football but not close to 100% because sport isn't like that.

I will be disappointed, but over the last 2 years our team has been turned from an average team thay might just squeek into the Playoffs, struggling for cap space to the Number 1 seed who is significantly better than anyone in the AFC, and will be a serious contender for Super Bowl LXI. Noone deserves to be fired for that.

While I fully expect them to win. My thoughts take me back to 2012.

If something happens, they will come back stronger and hungrier with a chip on their shoulder and kick everyone ass next year.

Whether this year or not, this team is poised to win it all, and there is another championship or 2 in our very near future.
I don't think you can assume that. See Detroit, Vikings, Ravens, Chiefs, Bills who all thought that last year. Time to win is now.

EXACTLY.

We can't think that this is the beginning of a run.

It is very difficult to get to this point every year.

The time to get it done is NOW.

I enjoy the games, and have a long standing love affair with all things "Hawks". The feeling is much like a parent for children. I can see the good, the bad and the disappointment depending on circumstances. It is a fun time, a time to be happy.

Then again, the only thing that ticks me off about football, is poor refereeing, women accosting coaches on the way to the locker room, or the length of the Super Bowl show.

Good Gawd, you have to treat it like 2 different games, because the first half is nearly as long as an entire game in 1965, followed by a halftime show as meaningless as the smear on toilet paper.

THEN a second half of a game happens. If Seahawks play, I watch the entire show. Otherwise, I watch the recording and ignore any talk about it.

No matter what the NFL or fans say, the Super Bowl is a lousy way to treat two teams who have had fantastic seasons.

As a fan, I do not need 2 weeks to steep in drama and excitement. Or the coterrie of analysts blathering on for hours. Just football please.

I went on there, but HAVE FUN... ENJOY, and don't get down at a loss if it happens. Hell, look where we are at as a team and as fans. Life is great, and act like we've been here before. WHY? Because we have.

There's the short term view and the long term view.

The long term view is that this team is continually building and improving. No one but the most crazy optimistic fans expected a 14 win season and the #1 seed. Worst case, we're playing in the NFC championship. As others have noted, this coaching staff is VERY good at self analysis and identifying where to improve, and having the accountability (from front office to coaching to players) to actually implement change. So long-term, if the worst happens we celebrate a great year and look forward to next season with a lot more justified optimism.

Short term....one way or another, there's no way I'm watching the Rams in the Super Bowl. Not happening. It's the Seahawks playing on Feb 9, or I'm doing chores around the house. But my funk wouldn't last too long, it is after just a game.
