That would be me. Winning the division title and the conference reg season title is succeeding at obtaining the first two of my team goals. If that is the extent of our success this year I'll take it and be happy about it. Whatever else happens will be gravy for me, and I will happily accept that too. I love good gravy. I will also enjoy whatever success we have in squashing the Niners hopes for now and the future. Same goes for the Rams.
I would take a conference championship game, and a chance to go to the SB over a division banner and regular season win title all day every day. But that's just me. I knew we had a championship caliber team right after the draft and free agency, so anything less will be disappointing to me.
I didnt expect 14 wins, but i expected to win the division. Anything less than winning the conference will be a failed season to me. And quite frankly, the SB, because we're better than any team in the AFC. Getting there will be the hardest part. Because the best three teams in the league are in the NFC. I'm sure the players feel the same way too. At least I hope they do.
If the 9ers or rams go on to win it all, that division banner won't mean a damn thing. You think their fanbase will care about a division banner when they're hoisting the conference banner and maybe Championship banner?
But like some posters above said. Some folks are cool with mediocrity, and that's cool too.
