The thing is though, none of the realists said Carroll never did anything right. They simply said, based on his faults and apparent inability or unwillingness to evolve, that we would be stuck in what we were seeing as long as he was here. Some of us were saying it for near a decade. Some people were okay with mediocrity. Some people were wanting the team to take the necessary risk to get back to what it was at the beginning of Pete's time here. That isn't Pete hate, it is wanting a shot at the championship instead of just barely winning every year.

Championships matter. Conference Championship banners matter. Winning 9/10 games and missing the playoffs, or one and dones in the post season does nothing for me.

Consider it a compliment. We are so in their heads it's destroying their ability to live in the moment and just enjoy the victories that do come.

49er fans are a lot like the Patriot fans with a difference. The Patriots actually have won Super Bowls.

To shut them up ask them when it was they last actually won a SB. Their QB then was Steve Young, the year was 1995. It’s been 30 years of frustration and that is going to continue.

That would be me. Winning the division title and the conference reg season title is succeeding at obtaining the first two of my team goals. If that is the extent of our success this year I'll take it and be happy about it. Whatever else happens will be gravy for me, and I will happily accept that too. I love good gravy. I will also enjoy whatever success we have in squashing the Niners hopes for now and the future. Same goes for the Rams.

I have to put that division title in the rearview. Tonight is all there is right now. In the words of Kenny Rogers “there’ll be time enough for counting when the dealings done.”
Are we in gravy territory, yes. Do these opportunities come around often? Nope. Time to get it! Everything we want is right in front of us! Doubt this team at your own peril. Niners have had a semi-good run that lead to ZERO titles. Seahawks have a chance to put them down for a while.
