Both teams think they are the team of destiny. But destiny has only one darling. I would say that Fate has smiled on the Seahawks whereas it has merely toyed with the 49ers.

You all know that I am a reasonable person, and this is my reasonable prediction: Seahawks 38, 49ers 13.

Rams fan here. Obviously I'm pulling for the Seahawks to win. But even if it wasn't helping us securing the 5th seed I'd still pull for the Seahawks in this one. The one team I hate with a passion is the 49ers. And their arrogant clueless fan base. The Patriots are a distant second with who I hate the most after the 49ers. So do me a favor and kick some 49er butts!

I’ll be the first …

I think we are subject to a couple
of awful calls that extend Niner drives. Purdy is allowed to run east to west while our guys get held to convert on third and medium/long.

It will come down to the final drive and the Niners get in field goal range.

Niners - 20
Seahawks- 17

However -

We will meet again with a slightly sharper blade and end them in the playoffs.
Can't say I like the first part of that scenario, but it is , unfortunately, entirely possible. The 2nd part could be an epic rematch game.

OFFENSE / DEFENSE
Ranking, PPG
SEA #2, 29.4 / #2, 18.1
SF #8, 27.1 / #13, 22.4
Ranking, YPG
SEA #8, 350.8 / #5, 292.6
SF #7, 362.6 / #19, 338.9

49ers stats are inflated by a 3-week hot streak against abysmal defenses. And they are still inferior to the Seahawks across the board. Smoke and mirrors.

Media and fam narratives completely detached from reality (such as "Seahawks offense is lame" - even though they just broke the franchise record for points in a season) will have no bearing on this game.

The Seahawks defense is going to limit the 49ers. The Seahawks offense will be fine against their weak defense.

Most likely a Seahawks win by 2-3 scores.

This is a tough one. The Niners have an offense that passes the eye test. Defending Kittle an McCaffery is never fun. I'll just trust we can keep turnovers down and will ourselves to victory. This is our year.

I HATE this team and fanbase with a passion. I'll give props to Coach Kyle for winning with back-ups, but that's the only compliment this team is getting from me. This feels EXACTLY like that 49ers vs Ravens game on X-mas day back in 2023. The Ravens flew into California and absolutely punched the 49ers in the mouth. I expect the same here. I think our Defense is gonna take over this game and we win soundly. Darnold will have an alright game this time around.

Hawks - 31
49ers - 17
Man, I hope your right. Wish I shared the same confidence as you do....

The 49ers have a very weak defense. Everyone is talking about how they scored all this points against the Bears etc...The Bears have a very weak defense as well. Our Seahawks have the number 1 defense right now. Number 1 in run defense and number 2 in pass defense. We're the most efficient scoring team in the league and the hardest team to score against right now. We're number 1 in points per play and number 1 points per play allowed. We faced the 9ers week 1 when they were completely healthy and we outplayed them. If Sam brings that god damn ball up to shoulder length on that last play, Kupp was WIDE OPEN in the end zone.

Appreciate you brother. I don't hate the Rams, just dislike how LA has kicked Seattle's ass lately.

We hate santa clara as well.

Here and there
And it all comes down to this.

Deep down, we all knew it to be true. All the marbles. The one seed, NFC West crown…At the 49ers.

I’m not sure who is more punch worthy right now. Puka’s insane ability to catch anything and everything while being an immature kid or Brock Purdy and that horrific dance celebration he does. Slight edge to Purdy.

I have an insane amount of respect for what Shanahan has been able to accomplish with a legit M*A*S*H unit all year. 12 wins is incredible. Their defense is thankfully trash otherwise I might be picking against us this week. Good news is the Seahawks defense is much stouter and elite than the Bears defense so no worrying about Brock throwing 5 TDs against us.

Darnold and JSN should rekindle that magic they had earlier in the season. Pound the rock again like we did in Carolina.

Our defense brings Purdy and company back down to earth and our offense has the firepower to score against their weak defense.

Not a cakewalk. It never is in these divisional battles, but the better team will win and that is your 13-3 Seattle Seahawks.

Aros’ Fearless Prediction: Seahawks 27 - 49ers 23

Aros’ Fearless Record: 12-4
Hawks bring it 1st quarter and puts their foot to the pedal....Purdys dance becomes a walk of shame. Served some humble pie

Hawks 42
Niners defense crumbles...21
RTD: Doesn't matter..I just want this win

I am just getting this prediction down in writing . For those of you predicting the 49ers to score less than 20 points , I think you are wrong . Brock Purdy and the 49ers offense has been on a tear since he has been back from injury.

Purdy since returning has 16 passing TDs, 3 rushing TDs, 5 INTs , a 71% completion rate and a 111.5 rating . The 49ers are 6-0 and are averaging 36 ppg

Purdy is proving he is worth his contract. He has outplayed Mac Jones and “the avengers” theory is officially dead with no number one receiver and Kittle missing time. I truly feel if he would have been healthy for a full year there may have been mvp talk. He provides mobility and rushing that Mac Jones did not. He is one of the hardest qbs to sack , much like Russell Wilson in his prime

Having said this the 49ers defense is atrocious . There is zero pass rush. They rely on red zone stops and turnovers to “stop” opposing offenses. It’s been a good run but I can not conceivably pick the 49ers to win this game

I think the Seahawks will win the turnover differential and should be able to score a lot of points . My pick is 38-28 Seahawks . I wish Bosa and Warner were healthy but that is obviously not the case

49ers: 42
Seahawks: 38

Difference: Sam Darnold will see "Sam Things" and cough up a pick or two, one of which will be returned for a TD. The 49ers have played a lot of very good defenses down the stretch, but it has not stopped Brock Purdy. Both the offensive line and the running game are strong. Even if CMC has an off day, there's always Brian Robinson Jr., and he just loves to gash strong defensive fronts. That one-two punch, combined with the play of the hottest QB in all of football, will result in a long day for the Seattle defense. But, even with that bad news, I suspect this game will go back and forth. The matchups between these two teams always do.

Additional factor: The Seahawks beat the 49ers in Levi's Stadium last season. A 4th quarter comeback sealed the deal. I guarantee you that the 49ers have not forgotten that game.

So you're saying that the Seahawks' defense will play on par with the Bears defense?

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

A delusional take.

If we contain Purdy and leave it up to CMC I think we're good. CMC at the end of the season is pretty banged up and they cannot afford to lose him next.

#1 Contain CM. We CAN NOT allow him to run over us like Puka did in the passing game. If so, thats half their offense neutralized.
#2 Severe pressure on Purdy. I think this game comes down to what we can achieve on defense. Do we continue with trying to pressure with just 4? Or do we stack the box? Dollars to donuts we see more blitzes/tight pressure on WR's and TE's. Kittle is a concern also.
#3 No turnovers (I'm looking at you Sam)
#4 This is a tuff one....but...no penalties. Its difficult enough to beat the 9'ners.....just DON'T beat yourself by doing stupid stuff. If the league wants to steer this game, the last thing we want to do is give them obvious reasons. The rest we can't control.
#5 Ball control. We absolutely have to run the ball well....all game. Ball control...ball control...ball control. The strength of SC is their offense. Keep it outta their hands as much as possible. A fresh defense on our side helps us more than them.

If this were at home, I'd be less concerned. But its not.......so.....
Hawks 24
SC 21

But I am crossing my fingers also..........
