It looks like DK is about as good at landing punches as he is winning contested catches.

Unfortunately, he's a Stealer so he'll probably get a $100 fine and have to promise he'll never ever do it again.

Unless that fan did something to physically endanger DK or a teammate, he had zero reason to walk over there and do what he did. Thay behavior is unacceptable. Anyone of us would be fired immediately if we did that at our jobs.

I can guarentee that is not the first or last time he's been, or will be called a racial slur his his life if that's indeed what happened. As a person of color, i can tell you, you're taught to ignore that sh*t and keep it rolling, unless you're in physically danger. Especially when you're at a status of an NFL player. Why you worried about what some peeon in the stands says?

Now yet again, another of his teams will have to suffer the consequences of his childish on field antics. Because he will get a suspension, and fine. He is the absolute worst type of teammate to have.
I completely agree with your first two paragraphs. I was giving an explanation for Metcalf's action, not an excuse for them.

But I wouldn't be so certain that Metcalf will get suspended. There was no physical harm done to the fan, and going by the "it takes two to Tango" logic, the fan has a certain degree of responsibility for the incident, too. I see no reason to penalize not only Metcalf, but as you said, punish his team as well by sidelining a big part of their offense when they need him the most, ie down the stretch run to the playoffs.

I'll bet anyone in here a beer that Metcalf doesn't get suspended over this. 😀

He grabbed the dudes hair, that alone is assault. And Dumbass, i mean DK initiated the contact. 🤷

Whether he punched the fan, grabbed his hair, or swung and missed, he crossed a line. Fans say shit to players all the time. They don’t and shouldn’t engage physically with fans. I fully expect a fine and suspension.

No, you wouldn't. I've been around here long enough to know how it goes: half of you would be whining about the media coverage of it, while the other half would be having a contest to see who could get higher up on their high horse and brag about how much of a better fan they are because they wait for all the details to come out.

Unless it was Woolen, then everybody would want him cut immediately.
I always wait for all the facts before I run my mouth, what are we talking about??

That was not a punch. He was just waving and giving the guy a high five and telling him to enjoy himself, the guy just had slow reflexes and didn’t get his hand up in time to properly receive the high five, in other words the blue haired hippy did not get to the spot where he was supposed to and DK threw the high five anyway and it ended up looking bad, it was definitely the guys fault for a bad route not Geno’s fault for a bad throw… ah… I mean DK

From the side angle, it looks like he grabbed the fan's shirt. If he really wanted to punch the fan, he would have given him the left. There are plenty of witnesses. The witnesses don't seem associated with the fan, so we will likely hear the real story eventually.

Technically, yes, it is assault. But it's not anything that's going to attract the attention of LE. And it's obvious that he was provoked.

If he did yell a racial slur loud enough that DK had to walk all the way over there then I guarantee someone heard it. I guess time will tell but regardless what is he doing over there?
I find it highly unlikely that any fan in a situation like we saw yesterday is going to yell a racial slur loud enough to where someone 25' or so away could hear it.

And yes, Metcalf had no business going over there to confront the fan. Neither he nor anyone else was physically threatened by what that fan was doing. Metcalf went into the fan's domain, not the other way around.

Steeler fans were so happy they got him. I warned them that he would head explode before the season was over and here we are.

I am slightly annoyed by the fact that Fred Warner ended up right when he bragged after a game that they knew how to get inside DK's head. Hate a Niner being right.

Yeah I agree. I have a hard time believing that one from DK but if hey did then ban him forever from every stadium. If he didn't say it its BS of DK to say he did and lie about it.
