Damn, glad I didn't watch one second of it. I just can't handle the worship they get. Hard to explain. Sick of it. Oh well, change the narrative on Thursday night. IF the Refs allow it.

All I can say is that this was a pretty unsettling game. Were we looking ahead to the Rams? I find that doubtful. If it were just one game, I wouldn't be as worried as I am. But our offense hasn't looked sharp for some time, and I'm concerned that teams might have discovered the blueprint to stopping it. The running game is non-existent, we're not getting receivers open on that first look, and Sam isn't getting a lot of time to go through his progressions.

The good news is that we didn't turn the ball over and didn't commit a lot of penalties, and with this defense, achieving that goal keeps us in every game as we saw yesterday. Jason Myers has found a nice groove as he hasn't missed a FG or XP since the Rams game.

I wonder what the odds are of winning if you don't score a touchdown. My search results yielded 1 in 50 to 1 in 100.

I don't want to believe that they were looking ahead, not really the style since Mike got here. But it sure looked like they thought this was gonna be a cakewalk. Indy had an impressive game plan on offense. Oh well, on to Thursday. How they played yesterday has zero to do with how they will play on Thursday. This is THE game.

But we did score more points than the opponent… right? ;)
Joking aside - putrid sums up the performance quite well. There are however 4 positive things I’m going to take from the game:
1. Emmanwori is an absolute stud. I know the Browns LB is heavy heavy fav to win DROY on virtue of getting 10 combined tackles a game; but if there is any justice, it should go to Nick. Him not suplexing Taylor out of bounds was a great “non-play”, v mature.
2. Myers - J Money today.
3. Shaheed getting involved more in the offense
4. Sam not turning it over and leading 2 clutch drives with the game on the line

Ding ding ding!!!
Last one sealed the win but the first one answered the Colts loooong kick to grab the lead with only 1:47 to go took my breath away. I think it took the Colts breath away too! A response with such immediacy is stunning. The last two minutes of this game was a whirlwind of tit for tat. We got the tat.

The Niners have made a living winning games like this one this year. Games like this can show whether you belong at the top or don't. Today's game did not answer that question for us. It really did nothing more than create doubt. Thursday night most likely will give us the answer we're looking for.
Personally I have zero confidence that we beat the Rams.

I tend to be a bit pessimistic when looking ahead at games but I’m beyond a “bit” right now.
Our offense has gone completely cold.

Hate to say it, I think we’re gunna get trounced. (Our ass kicked)

Will eat a double portion gladly if I’m wrong.

Time of possession and poor field position. 4 punts the average starting field position was the 12 yard line. On their 4 scoring drives the average starting field position was the 25 yard line. Indy has a stout defense and played ball control and are well coached. It was a rock fight for four quarters

I think our defense matches up well against the Rams use of 13 personnel (eg number 3 being on the field). The first game showed that we were able to contain them with the exception of 2 short fields from turnovers.

I’m equally as worried about the offense though. The run game has been an issue all year and it appears we just don’t have the personnel to fix it.

Yeah, I hated how good their punter was. Dude is a beast. Seems like we RARELY started in good field position.
Indy had their backs against the wall and gave us everything they had. That team is no slouch.

For me to watch the game is a chore. So I can make a night of it and go play and get to a somewhat cheap motel and watch the end of the game there. Or skip the game. I think I will make a night of it. Hit up Applebees and get a ride back to the motel. Need a good night out once in a while yanno.

And you know me, totally calm during Rams week. About as chill as anyone can be. I really do need to express myself more about my thoughts on the Rams.

I just loved how the NFL waxed poetic every time Rivers completed a screen pass it was nauseating. I guess it fit their narrative and story line for yesterday but dude threw for 120 yards and threw the game losing interception. It’s a plug and play system that he played for much of his career.

We were lucky for sure. I've been waiting for our Rams vs. Panthers game, hopefully this was it. Indy was 8-2 before Daniel Jones broke his fibula, so it's not like we were playing the Jets today.

Rivers was competent, didn't turn the ball over, and played an efficient ball-control style game (18 completions for 120 yards). It was frustrating to watch, but designed to be. Kudos to the Indy coaches. TOP and making enough throws to give the run game a chance was the only way they were going to win this game, and they executed near perfectly.

Unfortunately, we were the guinea pigs and showed SF how to pummel them next week.
Especially the colts defense. They were very stout and Phillip rivers wasn’t playing linebacker

Jonathan Taylor was trying to have a game too and we figured out how to stop them. This offense is pretty anemic but because of our defense and with great ball control we can always win. Can’t wait for the draft again.

Yeah it kind of pissed me off more of the red zone play calling than anything but they’ll figure it out. Each and every game is different and they keep finding ways to win
