In this instance, not gonna disagree one bit. Today's performance was putrid. Happy for the win, but not exactly satisfied.
But we did score more points than the opponent… right? ;)
Joking aside - putrid sums up the performance quite well. There are however 4 positive things I’m going to take from the game:
1. Emmanwori is an absolute stud. I know the Browns LB is heavy heavy fav to win DROY on virtue of getting 10 combined tackles a game; but if there is any justice, it should go to Nick. Him not suplexing Taylor out of bounds was a great “non-play”, v mature.
2. Myers - J Money today.
3. Shaheed getting involved more in the offense
4. Sam not turning it over and leading 2 clutch drives with the game on the line

We also live in a world where if you're the Rams....THIS IS A TOUCHDOWN. Geezus man. They're not even trying to hide it at this point.
l’ll be fair to them on this one, this was a very hard call as he appeared to lose control of the ball after this frame. He then regathered the ball around the goal line; even with slow mo replays it was very hard to tell what the “correct” call was. Blandino thought they should have put it on the 1 despite the possible regather but as I understand it they called it a TD on field and didn’t feel there was enough to overturn it.

The calls we got shafted on in this game were far more egregious

At one point that Colts team was 7-1. Yeah they lost a handful of guys but they are well coached and played their hearts out today.

I think the biggest take away is this team must convert 3rd downs. Also need to find away to get k9 the ball in space. His inside running vision is not good. Charbs is solid at picking up positive yardage as long as they don’t call wide runs.

Oh yeah, what happened to the screen game?

Indy is a good football team today’s win was clutch. Holding a hall of fame quarterback like Rivers to 120 yards and 16 points is amazing. One seed loading

Yeah. Sam basically won the game TWICE (it only became that way because the Colts kicker made a ridiculous kick that was supposed to be way out of his range) there.

And the first time reminded me of the situation against the Rams where the ball was punted to the 1 while here the ball was punted to the 6-yard-line. And Sam led the team to the position to kick the Game-winner but this time it had a positive result (Myers made the kick). Then the second time, Shaheed with the great return followed by two key throws by Darnold to him to get them into position for Myers to make another kick.

BTW, it was absolutely critical that Sam did not turn the ball over in this game. One Interception would've more than likely resulted in a brutal loss.

This is a 'depends on your point of view' play. The player hasn't completed the process of the catch at this point. If you think has to 'survive the ground' to complete the process then it's a TD because he doesn't do that until he's in the endzone. If you think it's a catch because the knee is on the ground then it's a catch the instant the player has both hands on the ball, (even if it comes out 1/10th of a second later). Reception TD rules are different from rushing TD rules. If the player had already completed the reception process he would be a runner and yes...he would be down at the 1 yard line.

I began to think it was a trap game. I wonder if anyone else felt the same.????

I called it before in the Rivers thread when everybody was pumped and feeling like he was a statue and we were going to win by 60. I thought we would win, but I didn't think it was going to be easy. As for what actually happened, I wasn't prepared for that. You have to at least score a TD in the game especially with the people they had missing on defense. Seattle didn't and i'm just happy we squeaked a win.

I had the Rams/Lions game on the other TV. Both of those teams look like they could beat Seattle by 20. I know that means nothing, but i'm not very confident about Thursdays game. Seems we regressed some while they are stuck on full throttle.

I'm feeling no where near as warm and fuzzy about our offense as I was 4, 5 weeks ago. I think Kubiak has regressed, and I think our Oline has regressed.

The only difference between this team and a carroll led team is they actually make adjustments at half time. But why does it take that long? They have a film room right? Scouts? Analytics team? What's the problem? Why is our 1st half gameplay trash week in and week out lately?

Preach, brother.

I have been saying several things since the last Rams game.

1. Rams figured out, and everyone is now copying the fact that when you put pressure on Darnold, he folds. and KK absolutely cannot scheme around any type of pressure, because KK is an idiot.

2. KK is basically the Bizarro version of Grubb at this point. ****, I could call a better game than him, and I'm dumb.

3. Field goals are not going to get us anywhere in the playoffs. Hell field goal games might just get us bounced out of the dance.

4. These "We'll wake up in the 2nd half" bullshit games in the past month and a half are going to kill our season. We've been winning despite ourselves on offense, and that train is going to run in to a wall very soon. It's not a time zone problem. It's a coaching and motivation problem. Smells a WHOLE BUNCH like "Can you win a game in the first quarter????......."

11-3 sounds great. If we don't fix these problems, we're going to be one and done in the playoffs.

Oh yea, and unfortunately, Thursday appears to be our SuperBowl.

The Colts defense leads the league in YPC @3.7 YPA, a little better than our 3.8.

Should we have drastically altered our game plan to mitigate this and pass more? Maybe. But with a short week ahead and a low scoring game, it ultimately worked in our favour. Came through the game with no injuries while the Rams may be missing Davante Adams. And we still passed nearly 2/3rds of the time which must be near our season high.

We lead the league in YPA against the pass, are 2nd in YPC against the run, and 2nd in points scored.

The only game we've lost in the last 9 needed our QB to throw 4 interceptions, and our kicker to miss a kick that yesterday he probably would have made. The only OTHER game we lost in the last 13 matches was missing half our defense.

The Rams have got just as much to fear in this game as we do.

Meh. Yesterday has nothing to do with how they'll play on Thursday.

I didn't watch the game. I got this screen shot. Not interested in excuses for the Rams. They've been getting help for years from the refs.

Also, I remember what happened to me last Rams week. Best I just not talk about them much this week :)
