That was a classic look ahead to the Rams and being overly confident about a old man playing QB who hasn't played in five years. that's all that was, we'll be ready for the lambs
I really think this was a huge part of what we saw today. Plus the Colts came ready to put up a fight. They got caught already planning for the Rams on the short week.

The problem is they can't run the ball. As for answers to fix it,,,,,I have none.
I'd like to see them do more pitchbacks or toss sweeps. Charbonnet does better when he gets a head of steam behind the line, and Walker would do better (I think) if he started running forward instead of sideline to sideline.

Also, Walker needs to learn how to run behind his pads. First contact stands him up and he falls back. His soft running style is just going to get him hurt again. Because if you're not hitting someone, someone's hitting you...

I began to think it was a trap game. I wonder if anyone else felt the same.????
We were lucky for sure. I've been waiting for our Rams vs. Panthers game, hopefully this was it. Indy was 8-2 before Daniel Jones broke his fibula, so it's not like we were playing the Jets today.

Rivers was competent, didn't turn the ball over, and played an efficient ball-control style game (18 completions for 120 yards). It was frustrating to watch, but designed to be. Kudos to the Indy coaches. TOP and making enough throws to give the run game a chance was the only way they were going to win this game, and they executed near perfectly.

Unfortunately, we were the guinea pigs and showed SF how to pummel them next week.

I really like AJ Barner but he had a pretty subpar game. A bad drop. 2 dumb procedure plays that cancelled out good plays (lined up offsides and an illegal shift) and a block where he let a guy go by him to block the deeper rusher on a run play. Hope he gets it cleaned up for Thursday

But....but... I thought Mike MacDonald "learned his lesson and wouldn't let that happen again"?!

Same old Seahawks. Just when you think they're taking 2 steps forward, they take another step or two back to remind you that some things never change.

This is every team in the NFL

You can take the player out of Michigan, but you can't take the Michigan out of the player.

This is my concern too that we don't have a dominant run game and haven't since Chris Carson. When the pass game isnt working we need to be able to lean on it, especially in the play offs.

Has anyone seen our running game? We better call Acme in Walla Walla, Washington and have them send us a running game before Thursday. Maybe they can throw in one of those slingshots to propel our RBs down field.

Or .. our guys goofed up and overlooked to the Rams thursday and got caught off guard the Colts with an aging 5 yrs removed from the league Rivers
Should've never overlooked this team, that's on coaching, and the players need to know. .

We all have high hopes...but today's performance was kind of pathetic. I really expected a lot more from our projected SB contenders.

This is the nfl. If this game was a Pete era game we would have lost. This was a good win. We need to win these close games. They build character. But there is always room for improvement. And I do think we took them lightly, and it almost bit us.

The Niners have made a living winning games like this one this year. Games like this can show whether you belong at the top or don't. Today's game did not answer that question for us. It really did nothing more than create doubt. Thursday night most likely will give us the answer we're looking for.
