Just remember that some trick plays are about putting stuff on film for opponents to think about. And then it can be used against them. Just think next time Kupp comes around and Darnold fakes the toss and hits Barner on the backside because everyone followed Kupp and JSN.

I'm not a fan of the reverse option play myself. Much prefer the flea flicker. But every trick play has some value no matter how successful or not.

The flea flicker is the best Trick play because IT KEEPS THE BALL IN THE HANDS OF THE QUARTERBACK.

Any trick play that involves throwing the ball that does not have the ball in the QB's hands is a bad play, imo.

Honestly I have never seen this many trick plays in a row be utter failures. I was looking forward to the Jalen Milroe/Taysom Hill packages but at this point we need to put them on the shelf and start blowing people out. I swear it's a turnover a game from trick plays.

Every time he rolls out Milroe or another trick play, it feels like he's auditioning for a HC role by demonstrating he's a boy genius.

He's not. In fact, he's calling plays like a rookie OC and this is what? His third year doing it?

He's good scripting the first 12 or so plays and when he keeps the plan basic with lots of 12 personnel sets. But these "Look how smart I am" trick plays, inability to run consistently and the over reliance on JSN show he has a lot maturing to do.

It execution on both trick plays not the call itself. The Krupp INT we were up 14 point on their side of the field. Nobody plans for an int. Maybe a bad pass or dropped but the worst possible outcome. Same with the JM play. I did like MM response when he was on Brock and Salk. They asked if he was going to put the play in the freezer. He said something to the effect that would he say he is going to get rid of it and possible run it again keeping defenses off balance or say he is going to run it again (then not run it again) and keep defenses off balance.

He needs to script more than 12 plays, imo.

Like Script 50 plays (minimum) or something.

Failed trick plays are the perfect fodder for after the fact 'experts'.
It is the conversion rate that bothers me most. Our 3 turnovers in 4 attempts is a thoroughly convincing deterrent.
