3 straight solid games, You can't ask for more than that.. He is playing with confidence and posse and he's not getting rattled, the Cards D got after him a bit and he stood tall...

The risk/reward of swapping out Geno (for a pick) for Darnold and the contract he was given was favorable to the Hawks from Day 1, it was just a matter of seeing how it plays out.
Darnold could have a mediocre season and it would still work out in our favor if Geno is mediocre. The draft pick and salary cap flexibility makes a big difference.

I liked the clutch completion in the final minute. Gotta be able to do stuff like that.

At some point, he'll need to carry the offense and convert some serious 3rd downs to show he's a Super Bowl QB.
No doubt. Geno would have not been successful in that final minute. He would have taken a sack or thrown an INT, per usual.

Sam stacked another solid game on 2 others and the 1st game this year was at all bad though it was his late fumble that lost the game

He’s a whole lot better than many are acknowledging, he has the stuff to create Ws when the game is on the line and is an accurate passer.

If he keeps playing like this all the ancient history with poor teams and crappy coaching will be forgotten.

We have a better QB than the guy who was here last year. Things are looking good and will be better when they can get a consistent running game to help him out.

Meanwhile our D is looking more and more special game on game.

Let’s be honest. Sam is an upgrade now. The question is where do we go from here? It’s looking pretty freaking solid
I hope we keep doing what we’re doing, hopefully we make adjustments to the play calling as we go. Stop doing stupid stuff, like all the dumb 4th and 1. It’s like if it works do it until it doesn’t, the eagles run the tush push every single time on short and they keep getting it, they keep getting better at it even cause they do it so much.

The hawks have the ability to do some things really well, even our form of the tush push hasn’t been stopped yet we keep trying other stuff.

We need to commit to doing what works much more often and don’t force fancy stuff. We already have teams nervously stacking the box on us but if we back off the run that will stop.

Would you rather be fun and done or boring but hold the trophy

I like eagle-like boring

I wouldn't say that lost the game, I mean Sam didn't allow Purdy to throw for 277yds and 2tds.

He's not putting up ungodly stats, but he's doing what he needs to. Maybe the leash is on him still, maybe he's still getting that chemistry with everyone, not sure. I think he comes alive the further into this season we get, and that's exciting.

I was thinking the same thing about that 4th and one. What the hell are we doing putting Darnold in the gun then running a slow developing play? What's wrong with doing a Tush Push with Barner or Milroe?

He's an upgrade and that should've been obvious when the dude had almost twice as many touchdowns last year. He's just a really good QB who hopefully will have a chance at some continuity and build something in one place.

Well if he keeps it up, we can keep Milroe on the bench to learn for more than 1 year. He needs it. Hopefully Sam will get even better as time goes on. This is looking like it can only go up from here.

Yep, I had a Grubb flashback lastnight my ptsd kicked in a bit, and I had to hug my emotional support dog...😂

Right now, Sam is the better QB than Geno. That's pretty clear to me. One big reason for it, IMO, is that Sam doesn't have the self-absorption problem that Geno has. It's something I couldn't help but notice about him. Rather than connecting with his teammates, inspiring them in that way, too often I saw him pouting and moping about to himself when he came off the field or was somewhere on the sidelines. It wasn't a good look. I think our HC and JS had the same feelings about him as a leader and were ready to move on from him as soon as it became feasible to do so.

An accurate game manager that does exactly what he needs to do

I won't complain at all
Not sure what he has done to earn the game manager title... I get most people dont have time or dont like to watch film but this dude has top five arm strength and throws an extremely catchable ball. With one of most consistantly tight spirals, perhaps only rivaled by Stafford. He fearlessly throws deep balls and threads needles and takes chances that game managers would never take. To me a game manager is more like an Alex Smith or Trent Dilfer type, C+ armstength with timing, and awareness. With under a minute to go in a tie game, game managers are typically leashed, unlike Sam who went out and won it for us.
