It's not a position I want to mess with unless his form falls off a cliff and so far he's generally been fine/good. Same with punters and long snappers, you don't think much about them until you get a bad one.
Blair Walsh still scars me after years of Hauschka being clutch. Hauschka was still solid at the Bills after he left us. Then you see the 49ers issues. It's such a hard position to judge. You see lots of good college kickers struggle in the NFL, a lot due to the mental pressure. I'm sure that Tennessee kicker in the Georgia game hits all the fgs in practice and 99% of the time in games but when it came to him having t9 score the winning fg he looked absolutely terrified and missed.
