You have legitimate gripes, but your conclusion is wrong. It's like asking for the death penalty for a parking ticket. Too early to judge, still

Not every coach can be Sean McVay or Kyle Shanahan. Hell, even Shanahan isn't Shanahan half the time. He's had 4 losing seasons out of 8 with the 49ers.

That’s right, I’m going there.
Despite having the face of an angel and a body sculpted by Greek Gods, I’m afraid that I’m going to have to pull the pin and call for the firing of head coach Mike Macdonald after the first game of his second season.

Now, I know some of you will get very upset at this post. Some will think I’m trolling, others may ignore/block me. To each their own.

Unfortunately, I’m at the point where I’ve lost confidence in the guy.

I could excuse the hiring of Ryan Grubb last year. Coach Mac and Schneider wanted to find a creative way to utilize Metcalf, Lockett and JSN, and they thought after Grubb’s success at UW with Penix, maybe this would be the guy to jettison Geno up to the elite category of QBs.

As well all know now, that clearly backfired. Where I blame Macdonald, however, is his unwillingness to restrain Grubb during the season. He kept citing his “time management” difficulties for not focusing on the offense.

Well, that’s too damn bad. You’re the head coach. Your job is to manage time appropriately. Your job is to hold your coordinators accountable. Your job is to be proactive, not reactive with an obvious weak leak in the coaching chain.

Macdonald kicks Grubb to the curb after the season, and rightfully so, only to bring in Kubiak Jr. Why Klint Kubiak? Was it because he’d actually fall in line and be more of a yes man, as opposed to the dancing on tables shenanigans of Grubb? Potentially.

That’s what has gotten me to the precipice of stating such an outlandish and quite frankly outrageous suggestion as to call for the firing of Mike Macdonald. One game into the regular season, we saw what Kubiak was capable of: mediocrity. He was outschemed and outmatched by Star Trek villain Robert Saleh, resulting in a loss that NEVER SHOULD HAVE HAPPENED!!

Now, the team is 0-1, going a measly 1-7 in their last 8 home games, allowing baby faced Purdy and his half a team to waltz into our house and throw 2 interceptions, lazy ducks and walk away with a W and an injury designation. UNACCEPTABLE!!

Therefore, I’m left with no choice but to throw out this truth bomb that apparently only I can see and call for the firing of Mike Macdonald, simply because of his inability to find a competent offensive coordinator. This is an offensive league, and he’s allowed that side of the ball to go to hell. I won’t stand for it!

This ship is sinking, my fellow 12s.
It’s time to start throwing dead weight overboard.
Well some might say you've got nuclear -

But alot of us are thinking similar-ish-typa-wtf-just-happened-thoughts as well. O on Sunday was just bad.

I think this group is going to be a bit negative until we get our first win. Then we'll see people screaming Superbowl from the rooftops...any given Sunday with either the positivity or negativity around here. :p

As long as the players believe in a coach, the coach will remain. If the players stop, then, it’s usually time they move on. I think Mac is relatively safe for this year after game 18.

Dumb thread, silly indeed considering the team was poised to get a W if Darnold had not been run into fumbling the freaking ball on the 12 yard line.
Yeah, but that supposed W would hardly have come courtesy of offensive production.

Exactly how it seemed to go with Carroll towards the end....although, I think I stopped believing a few seasons prior to his departure, perhaps a bit more.

Grubb was a Schneider hire, and being a rookie coach, it's tough for office politics to restrain Grubb. For the record, I started threads on Schneider's hiring og Grubb and threads calling for mid-season firing of Grubb.

Broken record here, but just in case you haven't read my post on Klint before his job interview: https://www.seahawks.net/threads/kubiak.203863/post-3070305

Here, I respectfully disagree with you, the ship isn't sinking, the rock foundation is strong.

Organizationally: Schneider - Jody is still rock solid, Schneider - MM is solid
Rosters wise: We are THREE deep in QB, OL is coming of age, strong DL. Yes, holes we have a few, but name a team that has no hole?

We are an 11+ win team this season, I ain't worried.

I respectfully disagree, the coach will remain as long as the team is winning or the fans believe in future wins. When the team stops winning or fans stop buying tickets, the coach is on the hot seat.

Players do not sign coaches' paid checks.

I hope so. But..........it's usually "It's just x team" when they win.

I don't think Jerhawk went nearly far enough. Lawsuits, breech of contract, loss of citizenship, waterboarding, exile, sending him off on a one way ticket to outer space...they're ALL on the table.

This is also correct. I also agree.
