Coulda had Kevin Zeitler at 1 year $9M. Maybe they asked and he wasn't interested in Seattle. However, that would have been an decent scenario because it gives you a guard that is still producing at a top level and you're only on the hook for a year giving you time to find younger more long term options.

JS is the kid at the kid at the Easter egg hunt that runs to their Mom instead of for the best eggs (notice I didn't say most expensive) and only gets an egg or two left behind and ground into the dirt.

Add that to the fact that if you are over 30, injured and USED to be good he is all over overpaying you.

Just because you sign someone early doesn't mean you have to make a stupid decision. IF there were stupid PAST decisions they were his.

Just fire the schmuck. Just because an idiot realizes why people are calling him an idiot doesn't mean he won't continue to be an idiot.

And a good mentor for the youngsters. James Daniels signed on a reasonable deal. Mekhi Becton signed on reasonable deal. These aren't ideal but they are light years above what they through out there last season. But you don't want to throw money at a problem.. unless of course it's not the IOL.

JS is scared he is about to lose his job. He shows up drunk on his own show and pretty much begs people to speak about the positive things.

He can feel the pressure and so he wants to shut up the fans by saying "I get it" please stop putting a light on the problem...and that problem is JS.
Sorry bro, our John Schneider didn't show up drunk, but I understand where you are coming from.

After listening to him for over a decade, I slowly learned how to decipher him, first by filtering out all the "you know", and all the "like". However, to fully appreciate his thoughts, one needs to acquire the skill to string his randomness together. in the end, you shall understand him, and somewhere in there, there was an idea, a vision, even a plan.

It's on you to learn, not for him to change, and he wasn't drunk.

JFC. Can we get to the draft already.

I know the draft won't stop the incessant bitching - but at least we will have a full picture of what has or has not been accomplished.
Assuming JS hasn't been burned at the stake prior to draft day.

Flaying and then burned, you must do it in the proper order. Then pummel the bones to ash. Didn't you read the manual?

#76 left Guard from Chicago Bears looks mighty good to me for a pickup.

Charles Cross is gonna cost the team 30 million next year, so might as well draft a new left tackle now, or figure something else out. It doesn't seem likely, they will dump that much in one offensive lineman.

The cutter line is real.
Ya, I'm uncomfortable with the assumption that Cross will be here long term. Didn't he surrender like the 2nd most pressures in the NFL in 2024?

John Schneider and I probably have the same body. We definitely have the same hair and neck beard.

I doubt JS has really changed his views on the oline. He said pretty much the same things last off-season as the things he's saying this time around and he signed Laken Tomlinson and drafted a guard in the 3rd round. So when he is addressing it, his idea and some fans idea of addressing it is pretty far apart.
Sadly another third round guard in the mix means at best you have a borderline starter level or worse case scenario backup level player moonlighting as a starter.
