Sadly another third round guard in the mix means at best you have a borderline starter level or worse case scenario backup level player moonlighting as a starter.

i disagree, many Guards have been found going back, look at Larry Allen (1994-2007) 2013 Pro Football Hall of Fame Inductee... Selected by Cowboys in 2nd round, Jahri Evans, a fourth-round draft pick out of Bloomsburg University in 2006, became one of the most dominant and consistent guards of his era during his 12-year career with the New Orleans Saints and Green Bay Packers, Quenton Nelson, the sixth overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft out of the University of Notre Dame, Marshal Yanda, a third-round draft pick out of the University of Iowa in 2007,Will Shields, a third-round draft pick out of the University of Nebraska as a example, this hang up about no talent unless a top twenty pick is such a fallacy.

I doubt JS has really changed his views on the oline. He said pretty much the same things last off-season as the things he's saying this time around and he signed Laken Tomlinson and drafted a guard in the 3rd round. So when he is addressing it, his idea and some fans idea of addressing it is pretty far apart.

So most NFL teams will sign veterans on 1 or 2 year deals and draft developmental guards in rounds 3, 4, and 5 to give them a year or two to start or compete to start.

Teams that are backed into a corner for interior OL help tend to draft them in rounds 1 and 2 as the urgency is greater.

Seahawks do not have the luxury having a veteran that can help them along. How realistic is another third, fourth or fifth round rookie to the mix to start over existing players like Olu, Sundell, Laumea, or even Haynes?

It's not just the contract that's the issue.

It's the decision by the Vikings NOT to make Fries take a physical.

Remember that Fries had a broken leg (lower leg fracture) and JS wanted to exercise due diligence by having him take a physical before attempting to sign him.
