Eric Bieniemy was just hired as a "consultant" by the Huskies. I wonder if the Seahawks look to him as a potential OC candidate. He had success with the Chiefs. Does he fit what Mike M is seeking from an offense?
Hard pass. He got "credit" for things where he was "involved" and IMO rode Andy Reid/Patrick Mahomes' coattails rather than being responsible for the successes. To me it seemed like Bienemy has been being pushed on teams because he has the right pigmentation. There are plenty of actually good coaches and coordinators who CLEARLY WERE the architects of their own success and also have the right skin tone. Vance Joseph, Mike Tomlin, Brian Flores, etc. Now two of those guys are DCs and one is a HC. Surely there must be several good candidates for OC as well if pigmentation is primary consideration, I just don't know who they are, but Bienemy isn't a choice for me based on track record, merit and temperament and ability to connect with a broad range of players.
Who are the OCs of color that NFL teams should be looking at, other than Bienemy?
