I wouldn't count on that, JS is still enjoying the benefit of hiring Macdonald who's coaching fixed our defense. In short, Macdonald can save Schneider's job for one season. BUT, I am assuming the hiring of Grubb wasn't Schneider's idea, or he strong-armed Macdonald into hiring Grubb. If he did, he should be fired.
I'm not counting on it -

Organization just feels headless/rudderless. Owner doesn't seem to GAF, and JS has largely, at least in my opinion - been revealed to be milquetoast at best..... And dumb at worst.

I literally think MM is the best thing we have going on right now....

As Pete said in his closing press conference to John - It's all on you. Or something to that extend about the heat being all on him now. I agree he's safe this year. But if this offence struggles with the same OL issues again next year the heat is going to be 100% on him and I think his job will be in doubt.

Ok Grubb fired a day after our last regular season game.

A very nice guy, I am wishing him all the best.

Yep. Nice guy and I'm sure he will do great again in college. This is what was best for everyone.

Grubb is def. a good dude. Just wasn't a good fit. Now we move forward. Hopefully not too many will kick the guy when he's down. But, I suspect he'll be just fine. Someone mentioned Alabama as the OC. Makes sense. However, he took the job and backed out on them TWICE. So, who knows?

Keep Geno in the building, but get draft a QB to develop behind him.

New OC. New ST coordinator.

Test the trade market waters on Metcalf. Pay Ernest Jones.

Attack the trenches in the draft.

Teach the defence how to recognise and defend screen passes.

Fire Grubb - Check

Fire JS - TBD (not gonna happen this year)

Cut the fat, that means; Geno, DK (maybe trade), Lockett, Dre'mont Jones, and Nwosu (injury prone)

Acquire good linemen in FA, no more dumpster diving for bargains. JS approach to the line is piss poor and whether he likes it or not you can't go to the dollar general and get yourself a good OLine, gonna have to actually spend money on it.

NFL caliber OC, preferably one with a solid track record or an outstanding position coach from a proven winner.

Draft, gonna need that QB of the future but this years draft ain't looking great in that department. Still take a flier on a QB between Rounds 2-4, but OL and Edge should be the main focus if no QB prospect is there.

I know we have had OLine problems for years but it isn't like we haven't invested any draft capital in the position. Maybe there are a bunch of teams out there that have spent more draft capital on the OLine than we have but it seems more like an issue with either evaluating or coaching the guys we have. Just last draft everyone was raving about how good Chrisian Haynes was going to be and what a steal he was. Cross was a 1st rounder and Lucas a 3rd rounder. Conner Williams was the 3rd highest rated interior offensive lineman via PFF in 2023. I know that PFF has some flaws but you don't get the #3 rating for nothing. We have invested capital in the position...it just hasn't panned out whether that is due to injuries, evaluation, coaching or scheme. So many posts basically say that we just ignore the offensive line but I just don't think that is true.

Grubb is not getting fired. You guys made that up. None of the coaches are getting fired and Geno is the QB.
Think I made a similar post back in the day but…reminds me of when I took a dook in my friends unfinished basement toilet.

He had just installed everything and wasn’t planning on using the downstairs, nor the toilet for that matter, for at least a few months.

Unbeknownst to me, the toilet didn’t actually flush the monstrous log that I gave birth to down the drain.

Yes…these type posts aged horribly. Guilty!

I thought he had at least a year left (Grubb…not Mr. Hanky).

Haha yeah. Let's start the poo poo and pee pee conversations in earnest in reference to pure speculation and football. I predict Dolly Partons Genome will be spread to all lovlievwomen into their 70s and that will land us a great offensive coordinator who did better than Grubb. So let's be clear. Record first downs and 6vmillion in incentives met for a qb. Next guy by your logic clearly does better. I won't be watching my stool to predict the future. The pass defense was better we would have won more games. The oline as close to terrible in some games as you can get got better. Firing Grubb just started the learning curve over and achieved nothing.
